Agrippa Menenius Lanatus, respected senator of the Menenia gens arrives to the Sempronii domus.
Aelianus would open the door, "Please, do come in Lanatus! What brings you to my humble domus?" He would lead him through to a spacious atrium, and pull up a chair for him.

Lanatus sits elegantly, carefully, avoiding to make a mess of his splendid and pure toga, falling in delicate waves around his body. Lanatus looks Paetus sharply.
"Thanks for the welcoming, senator; your domus is indeed a true Roman home, I congratulate you"
"I've heard that you will run for the office of quaestor"
Agrippa looks into his eyes.
Aelianus would look back at Agrippa, his gaze equally as sharp.
"Indeed I will, and I have heard you will run for Consul? A title deserving of your gens indeed."

Agrippa looks his nails and then the senator again. He caresses the thin scar crossing his chin.
"Of course it is, five Menania have been consul since the founding of the Republic. But, senator you would make an excellent quaestor. I offer you my friendly support for your campaign. However friendship should be reciprocal, doesn't it?"
He chuckles a little.
Aelianus would smile slightly at the man's statement,
"Is friendship not always reciprocal in Rome, Agrippa? But of course, you can count on my support for the coming campaign. We need a strong Consul to deal with the Samnites."
A small slave would come over and offer them a few cakes.

"Not always, but it should"
Agrippa grabs a little cake.
"I thank you for your support, senator. And I've encountered those samnites before"
Points to the scar at his chin.
"And I would deal with them firmly and ruthlessly, a strong, experienced hand is needed"
Aelianus would nod, also eating one of the cakes.
"Indeed, you are most right, I can only hope that they are dealt with quickly and firmly and Rome's might expanded. Perhaps, if I were not to serve as Quaestor, I would ask for a role as Military Tribune.."
Aelianus would trail off, in though, before looking back at Agrippa.
"So, is there anything else you needed?"

"We'll see, Aelianus Sempronius Longus; we must wait to the elections"
He ends his cake.
"Nothing, senator"
He leaves the wine cup on the table and raises from his seat carefully, checking his toga is on place. He offers a strong, but elegant, hand to the senator:
"Shall Fortuna favors us, senator. I wish both of us a fruitful political relationship. My villa is open to you and your gens"
Aelianus would take the hand and shake it,
"Indeed, we must hope so. Perhaps we could arrange a visit to your villa some time? I am sure my wife would love to see it."
Aelianus would guide him to the door after his reply, and say farewell.
"Just send a servant announcing your arrival, senator. Now I must go, I have still many things to do until the elections"
Agrippa escorted by several servants leaves the Sempronii's domus.
A servant descended upon Aelianus' house with a message foretelling of the arrival of his master.
He wishes to discuss the forthcoming elections, and believes that mutual friendship would be most beneficial.
-------------------
Gnaeus took a deep breath before addressing himself, knowing that he was speaking to a man who could propel his career forward, or have it stall for years to come.
My friend Aelianus! When I heard of your standing for Quaestor I was most relieved. You are a capable man, something rarely seen in trying times such as these.
He did not let the man even open his mouth, such was the speed and conviction that Gnaeus spoke.
You shall have my support, and that of my family! However, I must humbly ask for yours in return. Friendship between us would be most beneficial, for not only ourselves, but also for Rome!
OOC: I'm actually running for Quaestor, not Aedile.
Aelianus would have led him through to the main atrium, before taking a seat opposite him. After Gnaeus finished his quick speech, he remained silent for a moment, before speaking.
"It is an honour to receive such praise from you, and indeed I am running for Quaestor. Of course, if you were to support me, I would support you as well. We need a man who has the interests of Rome at his heart, not his own, as Tribune of the Plebs
OOC: Many apologies, somehow mixed you up with Julia
IC:
Gnaeus inclined his head in gratitude, more to hide the smile which was growing across his face.
And with war looming, we must make sure that the people are provided for, lest they wish a great change in rule.
He then turned back and called forward a servant, holding white cloth as if it were a fragile vase.
Consider this a ceremonial gift to show our new friendship.
The toga was new, so bright that it could hurt the naked eye.
A simple senator's toga, I confess, but I could not come empty-handed.
Aelianus would smile,
"A kindly gift, and you are welcome here any time, empty-handed or not. And, yes, you have a good point. War is coming, and we need a strong pair of Consuls to guide us through it."
He would pause for a moment, before resuming.
"Who are you planning on backing this coming elective period?"
Tiberius Honorius Lentulus arrives at the House of Aelianus and requests an audience with the senator.
Veritas Temporis Filia
A young slave would open the door, guiding the senator into the atrium. Aelianus would be sat with his son, talking by the fountain. He would rise as he saw Tiberius.
"Ah, noble senator, good day! What brings you to my humble door?"
He would motion for a slave to bring up another chair for the senator.
Tiberius shaked hands with the senator as he entered the house of senator and walked to the fountain. He sat on the chair that the slave have brought to the fountain
'Hello senator, i think we both know why we are here and that are ofcourse the politics of Rome. Is it true you're running for quaestor?
'I'd think you're the man for that role and i offer you my friendship, however i do think i should receive something back if i give you my support for Quaestor'
Tiberius looked to the Senator with his eyes fixed on his face. He was awaiting for the answer.
