Outside the Villa of the esteemed Senator a group young members of the Aventine Collegium arrive, stepping out of the group emerges Lucius Tullius Varro eldest son of Titus dressed smartly and sporting the gold necklace that signifies his importance within the Aventine Collegium, it is known around Rome that Lucius is often sent to represent his fathers interests in relation to Political matters The many Denarii his father has spent on tutors affords Lucius a more ameable demenor especially in relation to the Patrician class, a convinient alternative to his fathers often course manners.
He knocks on the Villa Door of Lucius Atilius Regulus and requests an audience with the Senator............

The visitor is let into the quiet villa, towards the main lobby where the Patrician is examining what was recently brought in; wines and other necessities to refill his storage. Lucius glances at the Plebeian let into his household before turning once more to a jug of Campanian wine. After a few moments, Lucius turns to the Pleb.
I am Lucius Atilius Regulus. My servants tell me you wished to speak with me. Speak what business brings you here, Roman, and I will listen.

Lucius looks upon the gathered goods
'A finer collection one would be hard pressed to find in Rome no doubt Senator'
Lucius turns to Atilia,
' I come today on matters of State and Buisness, Whilst offering apoligies for my Fathers absense. Running of the Collegium is a time consuming affair, with these sentiments in mind I come to offer the friendship of my Father Titus Tullius Varro, he asks if the good Senator would give him patronage in his running for the office of tribune'
Lucius withdraws a Papyrus scroll from within his toga bearing the 3 headed Wolf sigil of the Aventine Collegium,
'My Father also offers you a position in buisness oppurtunity that has presented itself it with the rapid growth of the mining sector Senator, Contained within this scroll is my Fathers plans for a mining Co-operative, each member will concentrate on developing a differing area of the Mining Industry, once a period of time has passed and each member has amassed a number of the specific talents for their respective mines holdings we will them share them between the other members of the collective. With each specific material being covered by a different member we will soon be able to expand into Contracts to develop industry, I'm sure you will recognise the benefits of such co-operative either in terms of aquiring what could be hard to find materials or using the specific materials for building equipment or further trade outside the Co-Operative.'
Lucius sits back within his chair,
'As a Patrician you will recognise that certain financial outlets are beneath your time and dignity, for a small investment though Senator my Father can guarentee you a return plus a profit in these Plebian Industries such as Smiths and other factories from your investment. Together we can develop Roman Industry and share in the collective benefits they may bring. What I offer is entirely independant from the other, your support in my Father's running for Tribune does not reflect on your involvement in the Co-Operative but my Father believes that by giving your support it would be taken as a sign of good faith, something that would be valued if we decide to move together'
'As a sign of goodwill my Father wishes me to inform of his vote in your favour for Consul, he hopes this will demostrate his desire to nuture a profitable relationship between you'

Lucius quietly takes the papyrus and reads it while Varro spoke. After a few moments, the papyrus is rolled up and Regulus looks at the Pleb.
You make an interesting proposal, Senator Varro. How much of an investment would I have to make into your father's industry and work?

Gaius Marius Aquila comes to visit the consul.

The curtains are opened and a visibly distressed and disturbed Attilia exits the litter. She is accompanied by a young man, all knees and elbows still, tall, who strikingly resembles both Lanatus and Regulus.
"Oh! Brother! Is it true?"
A covered litter arrives to the consul's domus. They request entrance in the name of Attilia Maior.
It is indeed true, sister. Your husband, Consul Lanatus, has been humiliated in battle and was captured by the Samnites. I leave shortly to reinforce the main army.

Attilia wipes out the tears. The boy behind her inspects both the Regulus' house and the senator. He was seemingly calm.
"Oh, what a disgrace! What a shame! If I know him well he will fall upon his sword as soon as possible, brother! Or at least he should"
But she has a hint of hope, mixed with... rage?
"To reinforce the main army? Oh! Brother, those are excellent news, you will be actually able to defeat those Samnites. Father always was proud of your abilities, your intelligence. At least my sons won't be disgraced, again, for our blood is strong"
Attilia looks her brother tenderlyand pridefully. After all, she was the eldest.
Senator Silanus arrived a second time at the villa of Consul Regulus, the first being unable to gain an audience. He hopes that this time he may gain an audience as several important matters must be discussed

I will to the safe return of Lanatus, Attilia. I know he will be kept safe as a rich hostage by the Samnites.
Senator Silanus is permitted to enter the Domus. A servant brings him to a main lobby area where Lucius was, drinking some wine in quiet. He notices Silanus and gestures to the servant who bows and rushes off to get some wine for his guest. Lucius stands up slowly and gestures for Silanus to sit.
Welcome Senator Silanus, its good to see you. What brings you here?

Tiberius has written a letter to Consul as respond to the consuls' letter
To consul Regulus
I'm looking forward to further co-operation and honest friendship between us. I will support your further career whatever the outcome of oncoming campaign is going to be. Appointing you Dictator was only a logical step as Rome needs a hard hand after the terrible defeat against the Samnites. if you need any assistance in his war that you may count on me regardless what it is..
Veritas Temporis Filia
Thank you for having me Consul, I know these are busy times but I have important matters to discuss.
Aulus took a comfortable seat and began the dialogue
Where to begin, I guess we should start with the rising political faction I have recently started named after the roman republic called the Republican faction. The main goal of this faction is to unite Patricians within the senate to combat the rising influence of the plebeians. It is our hope that this faction will allow us to push forward our initiatives within the senate and will allow us to elect our members into curial offices. I am here to ask if you would be willing to join our cause and push forward the Patrician agenda.
The second matter has to do within the upcoming curial election, we are in a difficult bind with many of the senators north and the consul captured if not dead which disqualifies them from the election. you should march north with haste to aid our brethren but in doing so you eliminate yourself from the election leaving the senate with even fewer options. I have come to ask your thoughts on the matter and see what your next move might be

If I am to become dictator for the next year, Senator, my mind will be set upon war and how to end this Samnite incursion into Campanian territories. However, while I am away, I will consider your offer. I hope you can forgive me.
A servant walks in with a cup of wine, offering it to Silanus. Lucius sips his cup.
As for my agenda, from what I have heard, the Lex Atilia has a great approval rating. If I am elected dictator, I will leave Rome after mustering the soldiers and make for Campanian territories to aid our other army there. I will give my support to my friends and their bids for office in the upcoming elections.

Nothing to forgive consul, thought is no crime
Aulus chuckled
Indeed, though may I suggest consul that you drop the age requirement for the curial office of consul for the duration of this war. I am concerned that we may lack patricians with the influence to win the election. In truth I don't want the job, I feel it is too soon for me too leave the courts but I shall do what I must in these dire times to ensure the safety of Rome and its citizens. I hope that when this war is over I will be able to return as Praetor and you as Consul.

We shall have to see if I am allowed to do such things. I hope to end this conflict before my dictatorship ends and return to Rome swiftly. I have my supporters and, with your Republican Party, I suspect you will have yours, Aulus. We need not worry about influence at this moment. The Patricians have come to respect those of a common mindset such as yourself and myself.
Ah yes, my nephew. It has been a long time since I saw him, sister.

Gaius Menenius Lanatus bows:
"Consul, uncle, a pleasure to see you again"
His mother grabs his arm pushing him towards the consul. He looked into Lucius' eyes.
"May I trust I can count with your help and support while my father is prisoner? I have to run the Menenia affairs and a wise hand like yours guiding me could prove to be instrumental"
