    Default Can't start the campaign

    Hello

When I try to start a campaign, the game quits with an unspecified error.
I've looked at the system log, it doesn't say anything about the error before saying 'encountered unspecified error'.
I think the problem may be the AI system, as custom battles work. Or perhaps other files that are in different places.

It's not the UAC, or 'run as admin', because I installed it on a mac, using a wineskin. It works perfectly with mods. Plus, I installed it into a separate folder, then moved it to mods. It happens with both 6.3 and 6.4.

I think the problem is the game finding its way around the relocated files with the AI options etc, though I am probably wrong.
Is there perhaps a way to edit the files, to move the savage AI files (and other files) around so they are in the same places as any ordinary mod, rather than with those re-directions.
Or is there something else that may be wrong?

    Thank you!

The biggest problem is that 99% of the members are using MS Windows, been around here for a long time, but I have zero working knowledge of a MAC and how the mod needs to be set up. All I can suggest perhaps check Third Age TW Mod,another MTW2 Mod perhaps their may be somebody who can help with set up of a Mac.

Also you might PM Irishron, he is a very knowledgeable guy, both soft and hardware, welcome to say that Navajo Joe, suggested you contact him.

    Thank you!
Are there any files that I can move around to give it the structure of a normal mod? I think my computer has problems with them being re-located.

you could try "Parallels" for the setup and then run the mod with wine?

or take the long but rewarding process of setting up a proper gaming partition with bootcamps running a full Windows OS like i did.

    Thank you.
I have already installed the mod, and have made a lot of mods work in the past. I just use the wineskin for the mac.
I think that it's just the relocated files for the different AI choices and options. I don't think it locates them.
For example, the campaign script is just like this:
    ;;========================================================

    monitor_event ShortcutTriggered ShortcutTriggered object_manager hide_gui

    historic_event aisavage

    end_monitor

    ;========================================================

And I think that's the problem, so I've been trying to move them around into the right place, as if it's just the 'savage' AI and early era, etc. But I'm not sure - it might be something else.
Thank you very much for the help.

That doesnt look like anything from SS6.4

doesnt the ss_setup.exe runs with wine? if is able to run complex games like M2 it should also run that little executable that just moves, edit and copy files around following instruction from a txt file.

in 6.4 the AI options could be manually applied as simply as copying the 3 files in their own sub folder ("data\campaign\sub\AiSavage" for example) to the main "data" folder.
Campaigns are pretty much the same, you could just go to "data/campaign/early" select everything and copy it to the data folder.
Other submods are more complex as they instruct the ss_setup.exe to edit stuff inside files.

It's the campaign_script file, in the imperial campaign folder. I then replaced it with another one.
I did the setup normally, so it should have the AI set up.

I'm not really sure what's wrong at all. It's just not working.

Thank you very much for the help though.

It's 6.4, but it was just the same with 6.3.

Okay. But it didn't work with 6.3 either. The same crash happened.

I can't help you with 6.3 as i've never played/modded older versions of SS.

I repeat, you could setup a parallels desktop with winXP to do the installation of the mod, then use wine to run the game.
Or the bootcamp windows gaming partition, you won't regret it.

    Ah okay,
