    Default Surround sound

I don't intend to sound snobby for those without much money/space(and space to get away with the volume), but for those who have been contemplating Surround sound, it makes the demo's of MTW2 much more immersive, and is sure to add very nicely to the full game as the sound with Eax4 is excellent.

When I put together a New PC for MTW2 I put in Creatives XiFi and their Gigaworks S750 7.1 speakers.

The sound in game is excellent, with pinpoint unit position and the roaring artillary rounds that fly by any of the given side and rear speakers(depends of course where the camera is) along with the mixed clash of battle if you are close up to the action, or your looking at the front of the English army at Agincourt and you can tell by the thud of the hooves in the rear speakers that the Frog cav has begun it's advance really add to the gaming experience by adding the 3 dimmensional sound effects.

All in all highly recommended if it's possible for you to get a surround sound set up.
My previous speakers were the Creative Inspire T7900 7.1 not to shabby and only about Ģ65 nowadays.

Try and get them a reasonable distance away, say 4ft, as this will give the sound from each speaker more chance to build and become seperate from the others.

The distances between yourself and the various pairs of speakers don't need to be equal. For instance my front 3 speakers and base box are about 3.5ft the side pair 4ft and the rear pair at 5ft(at the back of the room otherwise they would get knocked over by my kid).

To compensate for the unequal distances, I give the side speakers abit more volume and the rear pair abit more, this allows you to fit them into an awkward room more easily!

    Stupid question:
How do I connect my surround sound system to my computer. Try to simplify, because I'm really bad with this wire stuff.

I personally have a strong predudice against headphones, as they remind me of the cofines of living at home with the parents (turn that music down!!) I have always prefered sound in the room around me rather than stuffed directly into my ear(seems more natural to me) and then there are the times I have forgot I have them on, and get up dragging various appliances with me.

I have never tried surround sound headphones, how well do they work with MTW2, regarding the precise directional location of units, and have you ever tried a decent 5.1 or 7.1 for comparison?

    First question:

Wheter you use headphones or speakers youīll know exactly where your enemies are.
X-fi externalizes the audio by creating ten virtual speakers around you, above and below you.
    And trust me,it works.

    Second question:

Yes,and itīs only a matter of personal taste.

Get married and say it again....
