    (QUOTE)

Medieval II: Total War will contain a Gamestop EXCLUSIVE: The History Channel: Crusades: The Crescent and the Cross DVD FREE! A $29.99 value! From The History Channel: Crusades: The Crescent and the Cross DVD unfurls two centuries of war between two of the world's most enduring religions in an ancient, unending struggle of human and divine drama.
    * Cutting-edge re-creations and computer graphics bring the battles to life.
    * Renowned historians offer expert commentary.
    * The epic series from THE HISTORY CHANNEL.

A literal city of God, Jerusalem had been under Muslim control for over 400 years when Christian soldiers first besieged it in 1096 AD. Galvanized by Pope Urban II, waves of Christian warriors had fought their way from Europe to the Holy Land intent on bringing it under Christian control. Countless battles, amazing feats and an unforgettable cast of characters forged legends and legacies, but clear victory remained elusive. Only the 13th century and a new scourge from the steppes of Asia would bring an end to the Crusades.

With breathtaking CGI-enhanced visuals, heart-pounding reenactments, and stunning footage from rarely seen locations, CRUSADES: THE CRESCENT AND THE CROSS brings the first three major Crusades alive for a new generation in conflict.

I pre ordered in the shop, so I hope the deal still works. If it doesn't thats just 1 more reason to hate EB games.

    Damn, sounds interesting.

I love those kind of shows but I usually never get anything interesting on the Hitler... err history channel. I remember a show on Genghis Khan a while ago but thats about it. I can only watch so many shows about WW2... give me some Medieval/Ancient shows dammit.

Tell me about it... in the words of Ricky Gervais, "I turn on the History Channels, and amidst the usual daytime viewing... Hitler, Nazis, and Sharks there was..."

Seriously, they play too much stuff on the Nazis, but I did see an interesting show about Attila the Hun and Genghis Khan a few years ago. But I've stopped watching because now there isn't anything else except Bushcraft or Animal Hospital.

Does any one with experience pre-ordering from ebgames/gamestop know about how long it takes to actually get the game? As in, would I be able to get the game faster going to a store on the 14th, or waiting for the preordered game to be mailed to me?

I always pre-order my games from GameSpot and they usually receive the game on the release date and put it up for purchase the next day. So unless the release date changes, we will be getting the game on the 15th. The last time I remember GameSpot releasing a game early to the people who pre-ordered was when GTA: San Andreas for the PS2 hit the scene.

will i get the DVD with my pre-order from EB?
Yeah, you should. I'm not sure how many DVDs they're going to have but each pre-order should have a reserved copy.

I've seen the show on the history channel, it's pretty nice. Doesn't go into tatics or battles as much as I would like, but it's really good for understanding the crusades as a whole and the impacts they had. It's mainly about the 1st, and the crusader states that were formed.

sometimes the store doesn't get it until the day sfter the release. actually, most of the time. my local store said they'll get it in overnight shipping [hopefully] and it'll be there on the fifteenth [hopefully].

...the people that work there are ridiculously incompitent.

Yeah, they said they'll have the game on 15th and they'll give me a call to come and pick it up (I have pre-ordered in-store). 1 day late, but it's worth it. I hope I can get my hands on the DVD this week.
Flavius_Julius, I think you can cancel the preorder with Amazon...this is US man! We can cancel/return whatever we want No questions asked!

Don't know about EB but GameStop is handing out the DVD whether you buy it from the store or online. If it's only online, then it should say in the description that it's only an online deal.

When I ordered Battlefield 2142 from ebgames online. It was delivered the day of its release - instead of the day after.
