    Default Diplomacy problems

I'm playing with Baktria and I gained independence from the Seleukids about 100 turns ago. Like in EB1, the huge white monster is sending stack after stack of soldiers against me and it's getting really annoying. I've been trying to sue for peace by offering lots of money but it is not working.

Is there a way to get a ceasefire or is the AI stupid in M2TW as well?

    Thanks.

why should they give you a ceasefire? mabey they think they can destroy you.
mabey the AI is being smart by not accepting your ceasfire...tell me more in depth about what happened and how you peed them off?

I basically defeated them in over 100 battles, stole some of their eastern provinces.

so is it a stale mate? how many provinces have you stole , you could try giving one back as a sweetner that might pull it , or why dont you just finish them off?

I gave them 2 of the 4 regions I took from him and they've just agreed for a ceasefire. Lets see how long it lasts.

    Thanks!!!

I give it less than 10 turns.

Force Diplomacy, though it won't change the underlying feelings, but it can at least get you a Ceasefire.

What is the average thought on AS as a neighbor?

I played as Ptolemei on Hard and found AS to be quite passive and I basically took whatever city's I wanted whenever I wanted...
Is it a lot more difficult as a different neighbor?

I played as Pergamon and they invaded me quite often, though after some major victories i managed to get most of anatolia, but i had some major defeats near antioch so a stalemate happened after that....
Then, as throngs of his enemies bore down upon him and one of his followers said, "They are making at thee, O King," "Who else, pray," said Antigonus, "should be their mark? But Demetrius will come to my aid." This was his hope to the last, and to the last he kept watching eagerly for his son; then a whole cloud of javelins were let fly at him and he fell.

In my Parthian campaign (at least 100 turns IIRC, just back from week-long vacation) I'm at everlasting peace with them + trade rights. Revolted (and conquered once rebel) several of their provinces, bought off others (and dozens of their micro-armies). Not realistic maybe but fun in a sinister way

I get this one a lot:

Faction x blockades my port for what seems to be no reason at all. I request a ceasfire, and they gratefully accept. This happens again and again every third turn or so. The faction is not a territorial neighbor, and is meanwhile defending itself against an invasion, but it cannot stop itself from constantly declaring war on me.

does the diplomacy screen still say 'Vassals'? if so, can that be changed to 'protectorate'? its too medieval.

    "Client State" would be better.
Protectorate sounds more like XIXth century to me.
