I think it would be a good idea to concentrate all of our wishes for the Atilla expansion in one place. Hopefully CA looks at this and we all get Beta invites! :p

I wish that it will be the first game that doesn't need patches to make the replays show what happened in the recorded battles.

I hope the Goths are green and white so that I can pretend I'm playing as Rohan and that would make me very happy.
I'm not crazy, I'm the only one who's not crazy!

I wish -
Features from this game ported back to Rome II.
If not, at least modders should be allow to mod-implement everything from Rome II into this game. Factions, units, voices, sounds (except that god horrible music), models, skins, and even some graphics.
Modders allowed to mod the campaign map.
Accurate provinces and a better map. Rome II provinces were gross and forced you to have ahistorical andborders that did no good to gameplay either. When playing late Roman Empire, I want historically accurate borders.
More provinces and regions. Rome II map was sparse and lonely.
Every city allowed to be walled. And also disarmed/un-walled, if needed.
A working AI. That includes all kinds of AI, especially the siege one.
Working sieges with correct pathfinding. Seriously, Warscape engine pathfinding is terrible and pathetic except for Shogun II and gunpowder-themed games.
REAL civil wars.
More diplomacy options, especially REGION EXCHANGE and return of the feature that allows us to set how much money to give/demand.
Possibility to unify both Roman Empires (although this is ahistorical, since Rome was never officially separated and divided into two parts, but still). In case one empire falls, allow other to be called the sole Roman Empire with division being abolished as historically happened under Emperor Zeno.
Removal of blobs and crazy animations that cause them.
Return of population numbers, proper plagues, visible natural disasters.
Return of the Guard Mode button, and fire at will.
Legionaries should be allowed to fire darts like in BI, or just like how Pilum had been in RTW with fire at will option.
Larger unit sizes. Seriously, epic battles will not happen when all you have is 160 men even when engine is capable of having 500 men without problems.
BORDER FORTS! The survival of late Roman Empire depended almost completely on the border forts and Limes, and this was their main strategy after Diocletian's Reforms right until 7th century. The field armies went to fight the invaders only when border forts were overrun. Rome II's forts are a joke. I want REAL forts and Castra. And Sassanids used border forts as well, not just Romans, although not so frequently and not up to the same standards.
Which brings me to....Hadrian's Wall! It was still in the same great condition in this era, and it was frequently repaired and checked. Even after fall of the Romans the Britons managed to hold on to it for a long time. The rest of the Limes had been overrun by 370 AD, but some still existed.
No more river sailing. This is not Viking era, please. It only results in damn butt-ugly rivers which are ten miles wide and have square coasts with cliffs.
More traits, and return to the old trait system. Seriously, bring back the old system that allowed as many traits and retinues as one could have. Characters gained or changed traits according to what happens in their life.
Create a new engine from scratch.
The list goes on and on, but it will never be fulfilled. I know this.![]()

Apart of these great suggestions:
Realistic army progression: Instead of starting with weak units and unlock elite heavy units by 420 AD, you should start with a good army, capable of recruit some elite units like comitatenses. Then, as the campaign goes on, you might have to reduce its size or downgrade its quality because of economic problems; or by the contrary, unlock good old lorica segmentata legionaries if you restore the glory of the Empire.

But as far as civil war goes, are they only for the four Romans or for everybody? And are those things added back to the main game or do they work only for the Emperor Edition campaign?
Sorry for going offtopic, but this was too big for rep messages.

I would much rather have a full set of mod tools than this rehashed version of Rome 2. Just think for a second, almost 200$ for all this LOL!
Shogun 2, no thanks I will stick with Kingdoms SS.
Give region as well as per turn payments. Annual tribute as well as pledging land was a way for the Romans to buy off barbarians during this period. Part of the challenge of the game as the ERE and WRE should be not having enough armies to fight everyone at once.
Hopefully fix rebels as well. No more instantly spawning super-armies of silver chevron units.
Much improved political and family system, including individually rebelling generals that try to become emperor. Am glad to see that female family members are making a return in this game so you can choose which generals to bribe, assassinate, marry into the family, give titles and honors to. Hopefully wives will provide either benefits or drawbacks in their own right to add some level of strategy to that part of the game.
Guard mode at least for ranged units.
Much better agent balancing with more differences between the three classes of agent. Only spies should really be used to act offensively against other agents or armies, the other agents should provide buffs.
Ability to research more than one level of each tech like the skill trees.
Buildable palisades around minor cities. Eight building slots in major cities and six in minor cities.
If all these changes are in the game I'd probably pay $20 on top of the purchase price for a backport to R2TW.
