how will a x1900gt play medieval 2 total war, or is a 7900gt a better option? :hmmm: :hmmm:

So when it comes down to it its a classic case of quality or quantity. The 7900gt's performance advantage won't be enough for you to run a game on say large and huge settings nor the 1900gt's image quality equally different. Both are good card but if I had to pick one I would get the 7900GT (if they are the same price of course).

The 7900GT will play better, since at NVidia the GT is a good card. But I think both should be fine![]()
Just googled some tests and both cards beat each other in different games. Sometimes with quite large margin. For example:
1900GT: http://www.pureoverclock.com/review.php?id=36&page=4
7900GT: http://www.pureoverclock.com/review.php?id=36&page=6
Both are good cards, but since 1900GT seems to be cheaper and can use HDR and AA at the same time, I would by it.

Go with the X1900GT, it can run AA and HDR at the same time, although MTW2 doesn't have HDR, shooters do.

So then he should get a 7900 right, because M2 doesn't support it? :wink:Originally Posted by Shaun

Besides, the 7900 is more effective, right?

I just bought a new card 90% only for the TW games ;-) (cost about: 250 Euros)Originally Posted by Freddie

Well, I 'd say no, but the thread title and his initial question is how well the cards run M2TW

I don't think M2TW is (only played the demo) but what we need is here is cost/benefit analysis. If I can drag myself to do it I'll compare the average performance increase to the difference in price. That should give us an indication to value for money.
