    Default Rebellion?

I am not sure whether there is a similar thread or not, but does MTWII has same rebellion system as MTW? In MTW, there are several different type of rebellion, which makes some countries harder to kill (Pope states, Swizerland...). Therefore will MTWII follow this way?

I would imagine the rebellion system will be very similar to the one used in RTW not MTW.

In Medieval, there were ordinary rebellions, when rebel armies just popped out if the loyalty in the province was bad enough, then the reappearing factions, such as the annoying papacy, and then, the civil wars of course. In civil war your disloyal generals started rioting and took some provinces. That was pretty interesting. =)
I quess that they use exactly the same system as in Rome this time. Oh, and the papacy reappearing?

This is due to the historical fact that celtic tribes settled in Anatolia and gave "Galatia" its name.

You may guess that, in the real world, the celtic tribes in Galatia may have looked very different to their brethren in estern Europe, but as there is only one "celtic" faction in RTW (i.e. Gaul), the developers had little choice, had they?

I liked rebellion and civil war system in BI, one thing though: You have a 100-110% loyalty in some province, and somehow you get full stack rebel army.
And yeah, Pope reappearing was annoying in MTW.

Ya, and always bring a huge army with him...

In MTW, even normal "rebels" have class. The lowest is peasant rebellion, which contains a bunch of peasants and a few low level units. Second stage is some bandit rebellion, with some peasants, low level units and a few high level units. The third level is the worst, which contains a lot of good units oppose you.

    Rebellion should be in.
I loved the rebellion in bi with romans.
Rebels in your country by your own people to, who are not satisfied with your rule, and want to overthrow you.
Makes it really interesting and realistic in the same time.

With all said, I experienced, couple of times, civil war (I'm talking about MTW ,as you can see) with no reason. I mean, if one bastard doesn't like me and takes over one, maybe two provinces, it's fine. But dividing the whole kingdom in two (other generals were perfectly loyal) is kinda lame.

The thing that sucked about Barbarian Invasion rebellions is that for the Two Roman factions, the Two Rebel faction took up two extra faction slots.... Not a good idea imo... However, I liked in a civil war in MTW, you could chose which side the player would support, that was cool...

Well, yes, MTW1 engine/design had a lot very well created abilities, and a pretty intelligent AI ... however all knowing this as a fact. And i'm actually a bit disappointed that Sega/CA didn't plan to go merely the way of M1, just with the properties of a modernised engine and new goodies/additions and such, but even a real MTW feeling and design. MTW1 was a far better concept than RTW in my view.

The thing is, in MTW civil wars, you didn't know, who backs your king, what armies, provinces, etc. So, it was a coin toss.

Perhaps if a catholic factions capture the Papal States, the Papacy should re-emerge. I think that when you make war to the Pope, all other catholic factions should be set to war with you.

Yep, that's what happens. If I remember correctly, in Medieval 1 your excommunication was cancelled when the pope was destroyed, so it might happen now too. Just assassinate him when you have problems with religion.
