Nice presentation - as always. Had I seen the game now instead of the release date, I would have said it's very good. Didn't think CA would pull it off - on the technical side. I must admit, the game's worthwhile now, more than ever.

Great review! Shame that they forgot the family tree again...

    What year the campaign ends?

Hmm not sure about that one actually... perhaps when Octavian dies of old age? He starts at 21, it's a 4tpy campaign, he died at age 77 I think, so thats 224 turns... seems about right Not sure though!

Rome II does not a campaign end year. Not sure about CiG and HatG but in any case TW games since RTW then 'end year' does not matter anymore since you can play even past that date. Only the first 2 games where the game ends when the end date comes.

What the heck is that huge wallbreaking pyramid-ram in the video review?
The game development business is one of bottomless greed, pitiless cruelty, venal treachery, rampant competition, low politics and boundless personal ambition. New game series are rising, and others are starting their long slide into obscurity and defeat.

Thx for Review Darren , However much I try to love this game it always ends with me being very disappointed , the obvious and most annoying factor in the EE is they haven't even fixed the issues with roman shield textures , they are so bad its laughable , the colours of the new roman factions what's that about? you cant even see the shield designs on the roman shield when playing Ant or Lep.
I'm sure mod community will improve the EE campaign issues and textures , but in essence even though this Campaign is free im not sure its enough to satisfy all the patient ppl out there who have given there loyal support to EA .

    ,

It's called a tortoise. Check it out in custom battles! (It's in the campaign too, pretty early on)

I may not be right, but I think I have read somewhere (or probably seen a picture) about the Assyrian and Neo-Assyrian empires, both pretty militant and aggressive states, using similar-looking pyramid 'tortoise' rams when besieging various cities during the eras when they steamrolled the Fertile Crescent.

I like this new update but...where is Cleopatra VII? In Egypt there is man, not a woman named Cleopatra.
Si la aventura de España me costara 100.000 hombres no lo intentaría pero no serán más de 12.000.

In Egypt is a man called "Ptolomy", but in 41 B.C. the only "Ptolemy" in the Egyptian throne was Ptolemy XV Caesarion, the son of Cleopatra, who was five years old. He and Cleopatra were the kings of Egypt.

No doubt this is a serious error of CA... again

She is married to Antony, if you check his retinue panel, you'll see she is there with a unique icon and offers a large food bonus I think.
