Strange i seem to be getting a large performance boost with EE ( ran the test in graphics options i an i am getting 88fps average on extreme settings last time i tested this was patch 13 and i was only getting71 average at extreme settings.) Cant comment on special abilities as i play DeI mod and all there abilities are unchanged ( oh so i guess if i tested vanillia my performance would be even better as DeI uses more men per unit with higher res textures and unit variety increased.)
Hello Joey,
I've started Rome 2 EE yesterday (9:31 pm CEST) and quit the game from the main screen. Again a rare event happens, which also occurs for other people on forums and I've read about it earlier in the tech forums, that Rome2.exe does not terminate correctly.
The game will be reported to Steam friends as if I would play the game, yet the game is invisible in the taskbar and you cannot alt+tab into the game aswell, so it is completely invisible to the user.
Terminating the Rome2.exe process in the Windows taskmanager is a solution, however it would be nice if your devs could look into that issue, as it does happen occasionally for a longer time now even before the EE release.
As long the process remains "active", you cannot quit Steam.

"Rome2.exe does not terminate correctly"
Yep, happened to me twice today. None of my other steam games do this; does not mean it's a CA problem though.
Shogun 2, no thanks I will stick with Kingdoms SS.

How come the men in that pic are all black (as in ants with no definition)? The shimmering is still there?
Total War Rome 2 v1.00 is finally here although it's called Total War Rome II Emperor Edition v2.00. I have notice great improvements in graphics, performance, AI (I have not tested siege AI yet), troops tactics (Romans with pilas get through automatically), etc. Now it will be up to the community modders to add all the things we like from other Total War tittles, which were deleted, to have a real enjoyable experience.

While you may like having a half finished game to play with while they patch it up i think you will find most people disagree. CAs recent patches and the EE update have done a lot to save the situation (and i really like the game recently) but it doesnt make this exceptable practice. I don't see a lot of ppl tolerating this again
Hmmm ... must be me, but I get a ctd immediately upon startup right after the Emperor Edition logo comes up ... the game was working fine previous to the update.
Yeah, it's like Rome 2 was finally released almost a year later. If this had been what we got last year I think things would have gone down a lot differently. It's not perfect but I feel it's a good solid base game release at this point.
Didnt they say there will be improved graphic?? The only change I can see is different contrast and thats it! Is that really it? Was it just misleading advertising again?
Very good rocking song. The message of the song: WHEN PEOPLE LEARN TRUTH ABOUT UKRAINIAN WAR, THEY WILL GO INSANE!! (I suggest to turn the english subtitles on. Its over 18only because of violent pictures) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AAR6nUV7VI
Hello evreyone
This is my first post here on TWC so please don't shoot me down (If I need to go to an introduction thread please send me in the right direction because I couldn't find anything), oh and English is not my first language so keep that in mind as well.
Now concerning Rome II, I'm not a Total War veteran mostly because I've always played games on my consoles but for strategy games I need to be on PC so in 2013 I bought a decent enough laptop to run some Total War titles like Empire and Napoleon, Rome II however didn't appeal to me but watching the trailers I decided to give it a go around launch, never in my life have I seen such an unfinished game, you don't need to be an PC expert to see a game is fundamentally broken...
Still stuck with the game al trough yesterdays Emperor editions launch so it is clear to me we were sold a hollow dummy, a dummy that became better once the patches came trough and we now arrive at the final product.
I'm a PC noob but I find the manner in which CA/SEGA do business quite disturbing. Now I won't go into a discussion whether it was actually CA or SEGA who is to blame for this shameless scam but I will at least give some kudos to CA, in the end ROME II - The emperor edition is a fantastic game, it still has some small flaws here and there but it is quite enjoyable right now, good job CA but I will be hesitant to buy your next title once I finally have my gaming PC build.
So now I come to the customer/fan part, I was pointed towards this series by a good friend who has been playing Total War for many years, he said CA/SEGA was a company you could thrust. You can sense that while I've become hooked to this series as well I'm not going to recommend it to some other friends....and I think that is quite a shame.
It is satisfying to see the game is finally ready but it I feel very bitter about it as well.
