Mercenaries in Beta 2?
I know you have all been very busy and your work is looking fantastic! I am really looking forward to the upcoming new beta.
In your new beta, will there be hoplite mercenaries available for recruitment? It seems that Greek mercs were very important to Babylon and Kemet during this time period. According to some sources, it appears both nations had Greek mercenaries in their lines when they faced off during the Battle of Carchemish.

For Kemet we actually have Greek Mercenaries in their army. Check out the egypt preview, it's all there
For Babylon we don't have any, but if they were used, we might make them later on.

Thanks for the info.

Nero,
As for Greek Mercs in Babylon during this era, here are a few references:

http://history-world.org/chaldeansneb.htm
It seems after looking at quite a few articles on the web that there were Greek Mercenaries in just about everyone's army at some point. Many papers seem to suggest that throughout the 8th century to the 6th century BC, Greek settlers...many being exiled from Greek cities...began moving into Lydia, Phonecia, Israel, Egypt, and the rest of Mesopotamia.
For what its worth, a lot of the Greek mercenary references I've seen note Ionian greeks.
If you'ld like me to research this further, let me know.

Sources are imperative, the links unfortunatly don't name any. Of course, we are most interested in any information on the armies of our mod, which escaped us.
