VISTA GOLD Demo framerate increase anyone??

Does anyone know if Vista rc1 or 2 has increased framerates for them over normal XP??

M2TW tested on my laptop - Vista RC2

Specs

AMD 64 3200+
1024mb ram
ATI Mobilty 9700

And i can play all battles shader 2. Medium/low high

But seems same

I have a desktop with

3200xp+
2gig ram
6800 512mb

Not really happy with the FPS on high settings
Thought Vista may help...... sounds like its the same though

I doubt vista would help, since most current games actually loose a few fps in vista. You need to have more ram to run vista which also slows games down.

Vista is supposed to unload resources to play games - i.e. Vista may use more ram/video memory for its 3D aero interface but all of this is supposed to be given back for games
You may hate Vista but you will all have to get it - mark my words! You will all want dx10 eventually and only vista has it!!

I seriously doubt any Game producer will bet only on Vista for the next years.

We'll be fine using XP for the next year or so, but you can bet that will be as long as it lasts. Quite rightly so- with all the new features its bringing as well as DX 10, any developer would be mad to not take advantage of it. If you've read up on anything about DX10/Vista, you just know that this really is the next step to an unprecedented level of realism in games. Consoles may have ease of use, but the new PC systems coming out will just blow them out of the water, and quickly too.
