You need at least one, and unless HD space is a real concern, might as well install all four.

THIS IS EXACTLY THE SORT OF UNHELPFUL MESSAGE THAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! Download. Fine. Extract. TO WHERE? Run exe. WHAT IS THAT EXACTLY? Do you need a communications degree or a psychology degree to know that the language of instructions and exposition needs to be explicit and not implicit?

Download to: anywhere you usually store things (like a default Downloads directory), or if you're filing the mod somewhere in particular (I have a directory called M2TW Patches, which now has EB2.0\ and EB2.01\ sub-directories in it).
Extract to: again doesn't matter where, preferably not in your default Downloads directory, because that's messy, a subfolder in there, or your particular mod storage location.
Run: run the .exe file in the location you've stored the extracted files, it will then point itself at your M2TW directory for the installation.

The instructions are fine. Download, to anywhere, extract, generally in the same darn place you downloaded, but wherever the heck you want is fine. It's made very clear is an installer, not a folder mod.

And run?? The heck? It's only a single, .exe file! How much complicated can it be? Simply execute it and follow the further instructions of the installer.

I bet that if this was a program to download porn one million times faster we wouldn't be having this stupid argument and no one would be complaining about "complicated" instructions.

I get he's struggling with the install, or is perhaps worrying a tad too much for others that might get troubles installing the mod.

Given that honestly is one of the easiest and simplest mods to install out there I find it hard to believe that anyone would struggle with it, and even in the case they do, a simple google search of terms or examples would be more than enough to dispel any doubts, which is to say, rather than the install being difficult or the instructions unclear I think we have a lazynes case here. However even is that's the case there's no need to get personal at each other.

You should've tried installing EB1. Now that was a nightmare! Those instructions were a technical manual, man. It was super unclear.

These instructions should be very straightforward to those familiar with ZIP files. The ZIP file you download contains the install files for EB2. Of course, you have to extract the contents of the ZIP before you can make use of them. It doesn't matter where you extract them to, because they're just install files. You can delete them after you're done installing. The EXE is the only EXE file that exists in the ZIP. EXE stands for executable and it's the extension used for all Windows executable programs. This executable will do the installing of EB2. Just follow the instructions and you're done.

Maybe it'd be more clear if they named the exe InstallEBII.EXE instead of EBII.exe, but I don't know. Really, this is the most straightforward mod installation experience I've ever had.

If he found it that hard, i wonder how the hell he managed to install M2TW AND Kingdoms in the first place...
Then, as throngs of his enemies bore down upon him and one of his followers said, "They are making at thee, O King," "Who else, pray," said Antigonus, "should be their mark? But Demetrius will come to my aid." This was his hope to the last, and to the last he kept watching eagerly for his son; then a whole cloud of javelins were let fly at him and he fell.

Hey guys. I was just wondering if the graphics enhancement mod and the modesty patch need to be reinstalled as well? I uninstalled 2.0 and am now downloading 2.01. I reckon the message about them remaining unchanged means that we can just use our old downloads of them to reinstall them? If so, it'd be nice to reinclude the installing instructions for them, so people don't have to look back to the 2.0 install instructions for that.

Thanks for all your hard work, and for taking the time to answer tech noobs like myself.

The graphic mod doesnt needs to be reinstalled, the nudity one must be. Because the 1st one is installed at the base M2TW folder and works for vanilla M2tw and any other mods, while the nudity one had its files in \mods\EB2 , a folder which was deleted once you uninstalled 2.0

    Hi,

I have no full Screen with EB2.01?

Default Re: Europa Barbarorum 2.01 released!

EBII runs with Windows Mode + Borderless Window by default.

Adjust the screen resolution in your M2TW folder's medieval2.preference.cfg to match your desktop resolution and it will behave as full screen.

Alternatively, go into your EBII.cfg and make windows_mode = 0.

They should probably have a README of sorts or an explanation in the installer or something. Seems to throw a lot of people

I you have any issues I recommend you to uninstall the mod, check the mods folder to see if the EBII folder is still there, and delete it by hand if that's the case. Then install 2.01 again. I had to do this since I fidgeted around some files on 2.0 and when I ran the uninstaller some of those files got stuck around and where messing the 2.01

I've downloaded 2.01 twice from different sites and twice gotten errors during the unzip phase. It seemed to be 1k.bin file. That file has not unzipped.

    Any ideas?

Default Re: Europa Barbarorum 2.01 released!

That file probably shouldn't be 1k. The smallest .bin file I have is close to 30MB. My bet is the download didn't finish properly.

    Try torrenting it.

My apologies, I realize I wrote that wrong. The files are named alphabetically. So I have files EBII-1a.bin through EBII-1o.bin but not "k". Files "j" and "l" are 204,800 so I assume k would be as well.

But, let me try the torrent site anyway. Thanks for the tip.

Dear alin and EB2 team, first let me express my apologies for any offense taken at my comments above. I'm a big fan of your work and as someone who has dabbled in M2TW modding I have the utmost respect in what you have achieved thus far. I think your campaign is brilliant, with huge variety and new features. My only criticism ( which I meant to be constructive ) was to do with the colours of battlefields. I do respect the fact that you, unlike most mods, have reworked the vegetation and textures of battlefields. I just feel the colours are a tad too bright - which makes the battlefield feel a little less realistic in my opinion. At any rate thanks for the brilliant mod and the quick update to version 2.01 and I look forward to your future improvements. Once again apologies for any unintended offense. Cheers

Alex, thanks for the idea. The torrent file worked. It did hang up on one texture file but I hit "retry" and it finished.
