Obviously, the next TW game will be a standalone expansion for Rome II. Most likely it will be Barbarian Invasion II.

I agree,

The augustus campaign which features the entire map can be considered the equivalent of Shogun II rise of the samurai.

Hopefully they'll now announce Barbarian invasion II showing the fall of Rome as they did with fall of the samurai.

BI 2(Attila) is welcome. But apart from that I would prefer a Total war Victoria or a Total War Mongols. Or something on the Thirty Years War

I'm with several of the other fine people here and hoping for a stand alone BI 2 and it is hardly a surprise that the marketing and PR teams seem to be working hand in hand to build up some goodwill and raise awareness right before an announcement. Let us hope that it is something decent one way or another.

You do realise that large organisations aren't exactly averse to going back on their word over comments such as the one which keeps getting bandied around on here (i.e. the never doing a 3rd version of any title), right? If they think that Med 3 will sell the most then they'll make it for sure.

As for Warhammer, haven't they already 'announced' that they are making a game around that? And isn't it supposed to be completely separate from TW?

I don't want to see Empire 2 or Medieval 3 unless it's on a new 64 bit engine. So hopefully it's neither.

I'm hoping it's not that Warhammer garbage. The sooner these video games based off of board game franchises die, the better off things will be.

Oh I got one. Total War: Jumanji. That sounds like a hoot. Better than Medieval III, that's for sure.
