If it's this soon, it means they're most likely building this game on Warscape. If they're doing that, then its going to be the same crap they've spewed out since Empire.
So aye, I will be cheap - Warscape is a terrible, terrible engine and it is in dire need of replacement.
By Odin, it better be Medieval 3
Obviously, the next TW game will be a standalone expansion for Rome II. Most likely it will be Barbarian Invasion II.
It's not really soon for an expansion, standalone or not. 2014 is the first year that no new TW game was released. Actually I am surprised that it took them so long to announce Attila. I expected it sometime in August.Originally Posted by Miles Invictus

God, first I have to wait for 16th September and now for 24-25th. Oh my.
How many times someone guessed wrong about my nationality: 3
Where do I not come from: Czech Republic, US, South America, Former Colony, Germany, Austria, Switzerland
I'd like something new like a Victorian age TW, but I think it will be a stand alone expansion for Rome (Barbarian Invasion or smt like that)

I do not know. If you add one year since september 2013 to those 2 or three, it makes too long it would mean three or four years. And they are working in a warhammer and in an arena project.
Empire was released in 2009 then Napoleon, Shogun II and Rome II in 2013. This makes 4 games plus expansions in four and a half years.

I predict that this is the long awaited Barbarian Invasion II expansion, ala FoTS.

Well they hired Joey, a Warhammer Youtuber, to work on the Total War community team.
That said, it will likely be a Rome 2 standalone expansion, like FOTS for Shogun 2.
Under the patronage of the Legendary Urbanis Legio - Mr Necrobrit of the Great House of Wild Bill Kelso. Honoured to have sponsored these great warriors for Citizenship - Joffrey Baratheon, General Brittanicus, SonOfOdin, Hobbes., Lionheartx10, Mangerman, Gen. Chris and PikeStance.
I can't find any place where Warhammer is called anything by CA except the Warhammer Project. All indications are they keep it entirely separate from TW because it's a licensing deal with the Games Workshop or whatever it's called. Just as Aliens is a licensing deal SEGA has with Fox.
+1 There is a major game or stand-alone expansion about once per year. Gets repetitive doesn't it?
Somewhere in there, behind the scenes, it's reasonable to assume they are developing a 64 bit engine for the future. Won't be the Attila expansion though.

About the first part it is something that happens actually, mixing two or more commercial top names is a kind of intended success formula, like Superman versus Batman, or the Avengers, or Alliens versus Predator.
About the second, it is an industry so they do it as the others do, sometimes they make the product better than other times. Maybe we have to learn to be more selective.
I think it will be warhammer, despite the sieges we actually have. Maybe they have developed another system while working in Rome II.
