Multiple publishing websites say January 27 or 31, 2015 for the book. Gibbins' Destroy Carthage came out September 3, 2013, same day as TWR2.

I guess 2020 is a mistake or a default date when it has not been released, I do not want to think about a CLXIX expansion, but at the end it is an announcement of a book that it is not available, maybe a failed project.

I think announcing a new full TW title is a little bit too early, it would be okay if they release it after 2 or 3 years of development, but maybe its a standalone expansion to Rome 2.

It could be a Rome II expansion. In the CA Facebook post, "Rome II content development" is named separately as something that will be ongoing in addition to the "unannounced title" though. So it could just as easily be nothing to do with Rome II. I don't see why they'd go to a special effort to name "Rome II content development" and "Arena" separately as things that will also be ongoing in addition to this "unannounced title" if it's not something new entirely. They do have a habit of announcing new Total War titles around this time of year so who knows. Could be something involving belligerent, DNA enhanced, killer pigeons for all anyone knows.

EGX has just announced they will be revealing our next Total War Title at their show in London on the 25th-28th of September! This unannounced title joins our ongoing ROME II content development and the previously announced ARENA F2P project.

Probably, a stand-alone expansion for Rome 2: to take us into the future: Barbarian Invasion 2 or to the ancient past.

What i meant is ´they would look for a bigger stage to anounce a new game and the E3 would be just that place.

To everyone guessing it´s going to be medieval3: Theres been an interview with an CA Offical in which he stated they are not planing to visit one of there old games again and do a new Version of it, at least not a 3rd one

I guess is gonna be a standalone Expansion for Rome 2. That would fit the scheme since Empire. Napoleon tw was released a year af´ter empire and was basically just an Expansion. The same goes for Shogun 2, Fall of the Samurai hit the market roughly a year after S2. Whats more is that there has always been two years between the titles.

Even the way it´s gonna be annouced leads that way. One would expect them to announce a completely new game at the E3.

We already know they are making a warhammer. And its not total war.

I would say a Barbarian Invasion or similar era. Though I would wish for a circa 450 AD - 900 AD game.
