I am sure that it won't be Warhammer. CA probably will make other series for it.
Total War: Warhammer is possible only as mod, not another title of TW. Why? Because Warhammer and Total War are independents marks. CA got license for Warhammer, so they can make game in that universum. But Total War is the MARK, as Warhammer is another MARK. If you won't understand I show you examples: Total War: Sims, Starcraft: Call of Duty or Duke Nukem: Warcraft. Do you understand?

Personally would love to see a Med 3 or Renaissance-era TW, but after R2 I am somewhat skeptical of CA's ability to make high-quality TW games. Hope I'm proved wrong obviously.

Warhammer would alienate to much of the customer base....though it might add a bunch of new ones. It would be weird if they suddenly went to a purely fantasy setting. I'm hoping for Victoria total war....or medieval 3.

But more likely it'll just be a Rome II stand-alone expansion, but if not... I will be thoroughly disappointed if it's anything other than something set in Europe (or Europe + N. America + Asia) sometime between the years 1400 - 1800.

I've played Empire more than any other TW game, and I would love to see it re-done with skill-trees for generals, agents, etc + all of the other things they've added since then.
Empire is the only one without a sequel. (and don't anyone dare say Napoleon... that is not Empire II.. It's a completely different game, and more importantly a game which reduces my favorite factions from ETW to minor nations)

CA... give me Empire II and I will easily log thousands of hours of my life on it.

Warhammer Fantasy reaches into a few genres, most prominently strategy/tactics and roleplay, on both tabletop and in video games. I believe Warhammer Fantasy Battle (the strategy/tactics game) came before Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (aka WFRP). So no, it's not just an RPG. I've been a huge Warhammer fan for the last 12-13 years and am frothing at the mouth to see what CA can do with it.
