Judean faction in Imperator Augustus campaign pack
In the 1st century AD Jewish rebellion was an important war of the Romans. It was difficult for them to win. In my opinion, Augustus Pack must be at least Judean units, if not the entire faction. And the battle as siege of Jerusalem and Masada.

The Army of Herod the Great
Author:Samuel Rocca Illustrator:Christa Hook About this book
Herod was Rome's most important and powerful ally at the end of the Republic. Although he has entered posterity as a ruthless ruler not only against his own family but also, according to the gospel of Matthew, as the instigator of the slaughter of the innocents. However, he was also an able administrator who developed a powerful army. At it’s peak Herod's army could field approximately 40,000 men. Comprised of both Judaean and mercenary soldiers with troops from the Germanic tribes to Parthians to Romans. As a result of this varied composition it showed both strong Hellenistic influence in its armour and cavalry and Roman influence in its use of heavy infantry making it an intriguing topic for military history enthusiasts. This book will be a fascinating look at the ancient army of Herod the Great which will use the latest Israeli archaeological reports and finds, including weapons and armour fragments. Contents

Re: Judean faction / units will be included to Augustus campaign?
I do find it curious how the Jews\Israelis appear absent in the game save for Jerusalem. Like they never existed. But they were quite important at the time, even if you ignore the religious elements... Which is sort of hard to do. Is it possible to have Jewish rebels I wonder? Or even there own state as a result of rebellion?

Probably that's because of the ArabIsraeli conflict. This is a delicate issue and probably CA don't want to see its work associated with pro or anti-Israeli propaganda.

They are in conflict since the start of religion

Because Jerusalem was under Egyptian rule at this time i guess...
Re: Judean faction / units will be included to Augustus campaign?
I would like a Judean faction just because it would be so much different than any other current faction. Make them the equivalent of the Ikko-Ikki with OP religious (in this case, cultural) buildings.

Indeed. So Arabic units are allowed but not Jewish? Jews do exist, last I looked - they are real. Heck, we can have fantasy women running about killing everything, but not real Jewish people in the ancient days?
I just hope no one uses this game for their lessons on history. They'll just become stupid and be laughed at.

Of course its not a good history lesson game, I completely destroy Rome every time I play RTW (take that Rome, Paganism shall rise!). Eh I think we can calm down about this. Its CA's prerogative if they add it or not, and if they don't, then someone should simply make a Fan Made faction pack for "Judea." Personally I don't think they did not add it because of any current events. If they do add it, will they monetize it or release it simply for free in a patch? I don't think people would feel right about paying for yet another Faction, it would have to be free. (I would love to see this posted by the OP as a historical temple to defend or attack)
Also Arabic and Hebrew people are ethnically similar, they inter-married for generations. If someone wanted to add it, all they would need to do is take some assets from the Middle Eastern style unit files and make up new units with them, perhaps mod in new symbols or art styles, etc. "Jesus" for instance, if the dude was real (definitely not "magic real") would have been very dark-skinned and Arabic in appearance, and yet the Western world that adopted Christianity because of Rome, makes him appear like Joe Bro White Guy. Seeing as Rome and the current New Roman Empire (U.S. and U.K) still like to go around conquering "brown-skinned" people through Imperialism, that doesn't surprise me though.

Reason: off topic
Re: Judean faction / units will be included to Augustus campaign?
I think, CA will include them both, Israeli faction - Judea and Arabian faction - Natataea.
Both of them will be historically accurate. City of Jerusalem has to be the Jewish i guess, as it was controlled by Judea during the civil war in Rome (BC 1st century)
.
Through your intercession I hope to see the light of Thy son and the light of everlasting ages !
Re: Judean faction / units will be included to Augustus campaign?
During the civil war Judea was a Roman client state, and looking at the Augutus DLC map Jerusalem has walls and Judea is a faction. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herodian_kingdom
It will be very interesting to play them.
BTW involving modern day politics with what happened 2000 years ago is just stupid..

LOL, about that =/= sign there. A couple centuries after Augustus many Arabs would be Christianized (most of the Middle East). In fact, there are still Arab Christian communities around that originate from that period, Coptic Christians being just one example.
Back to the OP: yes, I find it odd that this game has no Jewish faction. Could have been set up as a client state of Egypt.
