How to light the unit when i choose it?

Is this possible somehow?

I am guessing you mean the unit selection marker underneath a selected unit during battles?

I think he means all the men being illuminated, the way they used to in EB1 when you selected a unit.

I must admit, I really can't tell which unit I've selected in a battle.

What I did for that in EB2.00 was to enable banners. Haven't started a campaign in 2.01 yet.

I don't like banners, I find them distracting and immersion-breaking. Even the green arrows are less intrusive.

To be honest, I treat not really having a clear idea which are my men as part of the challenge.

While I do agree with the banners being immersion-breaking, I've had some really frustrating moments when my hoplitai get attacked by pretty much identical enemy hoplitai Theres just no way of telling were your soldiers are..

Not being able to tell which are mine is half the fun!
