Default Third age total war, Disk error message :/ Please help!

Hi, i downloaded third age total war for my medieval 2 total war : kingdoms expansion ( of which i own the gold edition disks)
i fully downloaded the mod (apart from patch 3.1 as on the site i was prompted not to do so, i only downloaded 3.0 parts 1 and 2 and 3.2 only), yet when i try to run the mod ( saved as my Teutonic campaign) i get the error message

    Wrong disc inserted.
Please insert the original "MED2GOLD" CD/DVD.
Please have a look at http://www.securom.com/message.asp?m=wrongdisc for further, more detailed information.

i have tried all my disks, yet still nothing, i have the 1.5 kingdoms patch installed ( if this means anything).
i only ever get this error message when trying to run the mod, the normal game and other campaigns run perfectly.

    p.s.

i have another folder of third age total war but with divide and conquer installed also, this also gives me the same error message :/

Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

    ~Toby

Hi there and welcome to TWC Forums!

    1) What do you mean with the mod is saved as your Teutonic campaign? Is your M2TW a Steam or non Steam version?

    2) What Windows do you have?

    3) Just to be sure, vanilla M2TW and Kingdoms campaigns run fine?

    1) to run the mod my guide said to rename it as one of the kingdoms campaigns, this i did as the teutonic campaign / it is the non-steam version of the game

    2) windows 8.1

3)yes all unmodded versions of M2TW work perfectly, including the other kingdoms campaigns and the main game even when the mod is installed, just not the mod itself

    thanks for the reply

Since you have a non Steam version of M2TW, rename that teutonic folder back to Third_Age_3, and then start your TATW mod using a Third Age.bat(batch) file located in your M2TW/ mods/ Third_Age_3 folder.

Renaming to teutonic folder WAS for a Steam version of M2TW, but those instructions are out dated.

    Good luck!

Is your M2TW installed in either Program Files or Program Files(x86) folder? If it is, I would uninstall it completely, and install it anywhere else just not in one of these two folders.

Mine is in C: Drive for example( my folder path is C: \Medieval II Total War ).

    It should work.

You don't need 1.5 patch, even though it is recommendable.

After you get your M2TW/Kingdoms working ( and installed in any other place than in those two folders..) use this NEW FOLDER PATH as your Destination Folder for ALL TATW .exe Installers. For example, if you install M2TW in C:Games, then Destination Folder for all TATW.exe Installers is:

    C: \ Games\ ... \Medieval II Total War

After installing everything, use the Third Age shortcut located on your Desktop to launch your mod. Also, there is a Reinforcement bug and Mumakil Training Ground bug, for which there is a fix located here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...ntial-bugfixes

A question about the mod, is there any way to reduce the default unit size, for example being able to reduce the number of Gondor spearmen in a platoon to 80 rather than the current 140-150 size ( whilst at the same time reducing the numbers of all other platoons in game by the same percentage, so the ratio of troops is unaffected)
i ask as i prefer smaller more manageable platoons and am used to them from other total war games, also it would result in increased performance
    thanks again
