Get rid of annoying advisor

Hi all, I'm playing RSII 2.6 on Rome_TW.exe & I can't seem to disable the damn advisor! She keeps popping up all over the place & I hate her!!

I've tried setting "no advisor" everywhere I can find it but still she keeps haunting my very existence.

Short of putting a piece of tape over the top left hand corner of the screen is there anything else I can do to get rid of this really annoying woman? Help!!!

You can turn it off in the options, as well.

Turned off in "Options", ADVISOR_VERBOSITY:0 in general preferences txt & play_as_rome txt. The

still keeps popping out in the top left corner!

The 2 preferences.txt I mentioned are in the general "Rome" file, I was editing them but I guess you're talking about the "preferences editor" in the RSII launcher folder? This advisor verbosity is also set to "0".

Thanks for your help. I'm not using 1-turn & the "Play_Rome" is "ADVISOR_VERBOSITY:0". Really strange that she keeps popping up.

Not sure what you mean by that, I just use the launcher (1.3) to start the game.

when you start campain click one of yours setlement then click advisor 1denarie must go to your money.You need to do it every time you load game and check 1 denarie....hope u understand cos my english is bad

Ostrogoth means that she needs to pop up at one point; basically, she'll pop up at the beginning of the game and you'll just need to push the show me how button. She should, in theory, disappear after that until you reload a save game or something. It's been a while since I've played, though, so she may pop up only once and you'll never need to click the button again. In any case, just click the show me how button and she'll get out of your face.

Now in the event that she pops up after that, go back to those txt files you edited and open them again. Make absolutely sure you set the verbosity to 0, and then make it read only. It may be that it is resetting that file back to what it was. It should also be noted that this is most definitely a last resort. Don't try this unless she still pops up after you click show me how, as I have no idea if this will affect the scripting of the mod.

Are you clicking on the advisor or on the little "x"? Clicking on the "x" is the wrong thing, click on their face.

Do NOT click the X

Start up RS2, load a game. Now look at your cash.

Click on one of your settlements, advisor should pop up. Click on their face. You should see that your cash has increased by one.

Instead, simply click on their face, which activates the "background script" that RSII uses

Have you never encountered a background script used in an rtw mod?
