Can't suss coral paint shop pro X

I have just coughed up to buy Coral paint shop pro x because I want to add some regions to RTW vanilla, however I just can't seem to suss out the correct settings that I need to use, all I seem to do is add layers of different shades. Is there anybody out there who can give me a moron proof description of what I should do (I make forest gump look like a brain surgeon)

Answer is slightly behind the times as I'm only on PSP5 but incase it helps;
you need to bring up control palette - on 5 it has icon in top toolbar - then make sure that brush setttings have:
paper texture = none, opacity, density and hardness = 100%

Thanks for your reply it's nice to hear from somebody, unfortunatly my programme is different and it gets worse even if I did manage to work it all out (getting closer) my map regions file is a microsoft picture it document and I don't know how to move the completed file to microsoft picture it, assuming that's possible . It's really weird cos if I open it normally in picture it the region is red (but having played around with the paint shop pro) if I open it in paint shop pro it's blue. This is really getting to me now as I can do all the scripting it's just the poxy map
