I've never seen before it. Issue with Medieval TW II

Well guys that's something so so strange.
I was playing the main campaign on Medieval Total War II, wich almost the whole map is under my control, and when i took the last byzantinum region the game gets frozen and it sends me back to the main wallpaper/desk of my computer where it appears the following message:

You guys have some idea abut what's going on? I've never seen before...

I'd say you just ran out of memory, RAM and swap file.

Not having a dxdiag to work with, lower your graphics settings and only fight one or two battles before saving and restarting your campaign. This game is awful about not releasing unused memory and will evenutally use it all looking for more.

General rule of thumb is to restart the game after an hour or so to avoid running out of RAM next time.
