Default Naval Artificial Intelligence (or the lack thereof)

I couldnt find a topic on this..
Sure battle ai is important. But few things bothered me as much as how the ai used its ships.
How about loading an army onto a fleet then have it sit in a bay somewhere waiting to be picked off slowly by pirates and whatnot.
And blockading my ports for 1 turn. Yea thats gonna hit my purse hard.
Sometimes the ai would have single boats spread all over doing nothing, that cant be good for the economy.

I really hope this area has seen some improvements as well because i found all to often that gaining control of the sea was far too easy. And once you have that you're pretty much home safe.

well, the naval implement isn't really though to master. build more ships, have larger stacks, win naval battles...it's pretty simple.

i feel that as the navies are currently represented, there isn't much AI to contribute. I mean, if they did, to what effect? Smart enemy fleets that are represented by a wee bath tub-type boat?

ya, we really don't know much about campaign map ai. If the campaign ai is as fixed as the battle ai, this game is really gonna be one of the greates games.
to me, i think the last peace of the puzzle is a better campaign ai.
well, we should know how it is in a few days, when lusted gets his advance copy, and er(whatever his name is) gives us info on his 10 days time with mtw2
