Unit Scale Huge or Highest and other questions
I have just installed rome total war and have patched it to version 1.5, but have some questions
(1)In the advanced game option screen there is a section called unit scale, this has a number of options but the two best options seem to be Huge and then Highest. For some reason I can only select Hugh and although Highest is displayed I cant select it. Does anyone know why this is?
(2)The game install gives the option of installing Windows Media Format 9, do I need to install this for the game to run correctly, I am running XP Pro SP2?
(3)How can I check to see if patch 1.5 has installed correctly? (although it seemed to install ok I cant find the read me for it although there seems to be a read me for 1.3 in my game folder). Also within the game I cant find anything to indicate it updated to 1.5?

Re: Unit Scale Huge or Highest and other questions
1) Huge is the maximum options of unit scale, there is no highest. Unit scale means how big the units are, You're propably seeing that "highest" from another option like unit detail, it's just located right under the option of unit scale.. I got confused with it once. So look closer.
2) There must be some reason the game recommends Media format 9, so just install it, won't do any harm and the game will surely run.

Re: Unit Scale Huge or Highest and other questions
Thanks
I see now the most you can set unit scale to is huge.
I was also wondering
(1)how can you bring up a frame rate counter in the game?
(2)Is it worth installing the mod rome total realism 6.2?(is there a review of the mod anywhere, do you lose your saved games from the original game if u install?)

Re: Unit Scale Huge or Highest and other questions
1) Get a program called Fraps. You'll see the framerate in every game using that. Pretty handy.
2)Here's the area for the mod for essential info. I can recommed that, great mod, offers some more challenge. You can keep your original game by making a copy of it, I'm not 100% sure if Total Realism destroys it.

Re: Unit Scale Huge or Highest and other questions
You need another program to see fps in RTW
1) Copy the game folder into another location (as backup)
2) Install the mod in the original folder
3) When you get tired of the mod just copy the backup and paste it in the original folder (containing the mod)

Thanks
I have also heard about RTR 1.7 beta for version 1.5 of the game, is this going to be much better/different than RTR 6.2?
