    Default Playing EBII feels like...

... walking around an exhibition on ancient history and archeology in a huge museum - full of halls upon halls each dedicated to different cultures and areas.

First game I started up as Rome, and I think I spent some two hours just reading everything before even thinking about moving my first unit. I'd forgotten I was playing a game, and instead I was like a little kid who was allowed to pick up and look at objects at the museum, turn them around, gawk at them and finally, after many hours, set up all these fantastic, ancient objects of the past as toys and play with them! Living their lives, smelling the dust under their sandals, dreaming their dreams, sharing hopes and fears. I was immersed.

Thank you so much, EBII team. I know there is still much to do with the mod but even with what we have today, you have truly created a piece of art. An exhibition of times past, a playfield to explore, a world that will inspire people to study and learn history for many years to come.

I know right, there is so much history, History for every building, so amazing, it's 1000x better than any museum, 1000x more informative than any lecture and 1000x more interactive than any class, with the amazing music it feels so....right and great, this is how Total War should be!

The first game, I simply loved travelling around with my spy and discover things on the massive map.....going to sound a bit nerdy here but I imagined my spy as a form of network let by that guy walking on the desert, the steppes, the mountains discovering things. Not much fun of Europe in that sense, I love the Africa and Eastern bits of the map and the massive cities there it indeed has this amazing archeology feeling to it.
"Therefore I am not in favour of raising any dogmatic banner. On the contrary, we must try to help the dogmatists to clarify their propositions for themselves. Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

... a breath of fresh air in a post apocalyptic world! Still haven't had time to actually play, reading a lot of stuff and basically just firing up different factions just to see more stuff!

Yeah, the "tour guide" feature is a great new choice. I always loved the little geographic/cultural descriptions you got for conquering certain regions with certain cultures in EB, and it's even better now that the descriptions are no longer limited by trait length.
