Default Italian translation for EB II

A masterpiece like yours (i mostly like the "literary" descriptions in campaign scrolls) should be translated in every language to better spread knowledge of ancient history! If there is some Italian EB interested I would like to start working on the translation. I have a degree in History so this could be a pleasant work to do... if not at a very fast pace . Maybe in time for the next release... if this is the "beta" I can't imagine how EBII will be when "properly finished"!

When you install the game, you will find the text under M2TW/mods/EBII/data/text/xml. To have your changes take effect in the game, you need to run M2TW/documentation/tools/cuf/build_strings_bin.wsf. Before running it, you'll probably have to alter M2TW/documentation/tools/build_scripts.ini to set the location of your java installation.

I suggest making a tiny change first, to verify that you get the script to work, before embarking on the big journey.

Important note: Your work will have to be redone to an extent when we release new versions. It is all but guaranteed that we'll change some text as we go along, and there definitely will be new texts there (new units, new buildings etc).

Having problems getting EB2 to run? Try these solutions.

I do NOT answer PM requests for help with EB. Ask in a new help thread in the tech help forum.

I have tried to translate hastati description as suggested and it works! Could you say me what members of the team I have to contact to know what part of the text will likely be changed in the next version?

Well before starting to work on it isn't better to wait for the next update of EB?

You can still copy paste translations over.
