m/h i'd recommend at very least because on hard I find a.i. cheat a bit too much with their unit stacks as game progresses

Turn: 194 M/M difficulty (I did not play TW games much before) Playing as the Sabaeans, allied with the Seleukid Empire
Destroyed nations: Koinon Hellenon, Epeiros and Rome! ...a surprising one
I realised that the M/M was not such an amazing idea when 4 full stacks of the Nabatean army instead of retaking their capital went to take new lands from the Seleukid Empire, but it was amusing to watch.
I got the African province thanks to a Loyalist revolt and ...again most likely thanks to the difficulty... the Ptolemaians were completely content with a ceasefire and me having their city. But maybe it was a city that cost them money, being so far from their capital, I dunno.

I welcome any advise on what to do next, because the corruption in Rekkem (Petra) is a very significant problem. Should I move the capital up north when ready for expansion?

little more than 200 turns in as Saba on VH/H

"Therefore I am not in favour of raising any dogmatic banner. On the contrary, we must try to help the dogmatists to clarify their propositions for themselves. Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

Awesome campaign you got going on there. Happy to see some people actually play as the Sabaeans.

After fixing a few bugs today, I felt like starting a campaign. As the Sabaeans obviously.
Only got 68 turns far, this is the result:

Hmm my Lugii campaign is fairly early, i might have to go H/M myself if the AI plays passive.

I findbit curious hoe often the Boii seem to get swallow up. I have yet to see a screen with them beating out the Sweboz or Lugiones.

My Epeiros-as-Massalia game, 257BC (I think it's turn 63), on M/M and I've been tinkering a little (to keep the Romani out of Gallia and once to prevent Kart-Hadast falling to the Massylians; also given the Eleutheroi a lot of money on a few occasions):

Those three blue blobs under the frame are mine (yes, I only have three provinces so far).

In my game, the smaller factions seem to be racing away, but the larger ones are mostly stalling. The Seleukids seem to be having provinces revolt left, right and centre.

In my Makedonia campaign, M/M (yeah a mistake, thought I had to to get used to it, didn't play Total War for over a year). I forgot to look up the exact year/turn, but it's a few dozen turns in. 252 B.C. or something.

Ok here is mine at turn 70ish. .. thing is I play as the Arveni and I don't know if I suck or was it kinda hard.

    [IMG][/IMG]
Aedui and Romans attacked me hard with big armies (aedui took my capital while I took my army to get a rebel settlement and romans conquered a town with a full stuck and another one following) and only now I barely manage to fight of.Thing that sucks is that now I have to build those expensive government buildings again and rebels cut my income of with "devastation" ffff..

I started a game as pritanoi, H/M and passed 50 turns, just to see AI progression. FOW was off the whole time (I wasn't following AI movements of course) and I was looking around every now and then to see what the AI was up to. The AI enhancement patchie was on too, so that might give an idea of how the AI reacts with it. I was pritanoi, from what's already been posted they are rarely involved in wordly matters within 50-100 turns. So, here's how the map looks on turn 50 :

And a little close up of the area with smaller provinces :

Taksashila died on turn 22, from rebels. That's the only dead faction.
As far as I could tell, the AI was very busy making peace. Seems they don't like starting at war with each other. They'll declare war on their own, but I think they need to smell blood first. Seemed in a hurry to get out of their starting wars at least. They want peace, and easier targets. Better yet, they went crazy on the alliances :

    Seleukids and ptolemies allied? Madness!
Ptolemies worked fast on that one. they had a truce one turn, an alliance the next, a war with nabatu the next, then a new vassal (nabatu) the turn after. Overall there are a lot of nonsensical alliance being thrown around. And a lot of peace. Wars started kicking up as we were approaching turn 50, but for the longest time the only wars were Numidia/Carthage and Seleukids/Pahlava. Then towards the end KH got a little weaker. It had been throwing men at Kyrene, then the ptolemies arrived and snatched it from them, while KH took heavy losses. Makedon and Epirus declared, Epirus winning the war. Epirus also seems to have declared on Rome, since they are currently sieging Capua (those 2 were at peace since very early).

Another thing I've been noticing is that AI often has an army hanging around in rebel territory. Is it possible that the AI considers the Eleutheroi as a legit faction, and is trying to hurt their economy? Because their behavior makes me think of rebels trying to do just that to me.

To close out, a couple funny things spotted while looking around :

Makedonians launching a naval invasion on KH! GO GET 'EM BOYS!!

    Pergamon is having a party.

I was wondering if I should take this to 100 turns or just start more of those to compare the first 50 turns. This doesn't take long to do, if I wasn't looking around every now and then I could probably have 50 turns done in half an hour.

My apologies, I was away for the weekend.

The second version of AI has been installed. The effect seemed instantaneous on diplomacy. Within 5 turns, the romans were attacking Carthage, The prophesized attack from/to Pergamon happened (with Seleukia, did not end well for Pergamon), and ptolemies were at war with Seleukia again.
It did not end there either, conflicts continued to erupt. Hot spots are Crimea, Greece and Southwest Gaul. The Sauromatae lost Olbia and later Chersonesos to KH by rebellion, and the getai want a peace of that, so there's a 3-way war going on there (while Bospo is staring with 3 full-stacks.
The 3 greek factions and Rome (!) are now at war with one another, presumably over Greece. Rome's invasion was a failure, and it seems to now focus elsewhere (Arvernoi, to be precise), and Epirus seems distracted as it's picking a fight with the ptolemies.
In Gaul, the Arevakoi woke up and pushed the Lusotannan back, then repelled a roman invasion, And will probably repel an arvernoi invasion considering the romans are invading those.
For those wondering, yes the romans are going a little berserk. They successively launched invasions against Carthage, Greece (mostly Makedonia), Arevakoi, Arvernoi, and never bothered to go to peace before engaging the next foe, so they're still at war with all these.
Here's how the world looks on turn 100 :

And in the oddities section :

Is it somehow possible that some Eleutheroi settlements are actually producing troops? Because Bogidunon and Ubioidunon sure look like they did.

And is that a wanted feature, or an accident? It feels weird to me, but that might partially be because they never did in the first mod. It's not like it's inconceivable that those tribes could be growing.
