I can't start the mod, I uploaded the errors I get when starting from the launcher and when not, I do not have Med2/Kingdoms on Steam.

Yeah quite a few people have been having this problem, I think this thread might be of some help to you, it includes some fixes:

It's not a troll post I'm having the same problems as him with the shared.txt error.
Garensterz, look over here, you brilliant badger.

I think computer viruses should count as life. I think it says something about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is purely destructive. We've created life in our own image. - Stephen Hawking
That did not help me. Still that GERR_GENERIC error.
and lol @ OP
same for me...the file didnt help at all...
Which of course prompted you to look at the rest of the post. Right?

Yes, did the other thing too, didn't work.
Please list the actions you have taken. "Did it all" and "the other thing" are too unspecific.

This:andBrilliant badger, unfortunately a significant number of users get these errors. It is usually fixed by getting this file.
Extract it into M2TW\mods\EBII\data, where M2TW means the path where your Medieval 2 game is installed. Then try to run the game again.
.Stalwart gecko, there is a good chance that you have M2TW installed under Program Files. Yes? This can lead to several different and weird ways of misbehaviour from the game. There are ways to alleviate this. Use option 1 if it works for you.
1.
Add more permissions to the M2TW folder. Refer to this thread, search for "3)" on the page to find instructions with screenshots.
This
solved it, although I had it installed outside of Program Files before too. It is working now.2.
Uninstall EB2.
Uninstall M2TW.
Reinstall M2TW somewhere outside of Program Files, for instance C:\M2TW, or C:\Games\M2TW.
Reinstall EB2.![]()
have you done something more??? i follow the steps but still getting the generic message...![]()
Okay, good that you got it working at last.

Those three solutions are not those which pertain to your error.

so which solution you propose? i would appreciate any help you can give
You brilliant badger, you need to be able to read headlines. Your problem is the GERR_GENERIC one, unless you misreported it? Then you should look for something that relates to that problem.

yes thats the problem. so i should install the game outside programm files and use the text fix. thats the solution yo suggest, right?
Oh, sorry, my mistake. There is one more thing you can try. You need java installed, and you need to have done the permissions step first.
Go to M2TW/documentation/tools, and open build_scripts.ini. Update it with the location where you have java installed. Then go to M2TW/documentation/tools/cuf, and run build_strings_bin.wsf. It should run for at least 20 seconds.
Short of that, it's just to start over and install yet again. That has worked for some people.
