I didn't have a misc section either, added it. Seemed to work at first, however the year never changes. Always shows 272BC. The season icon changes though.

And it started of so pleasantly...
how do you take screenshots? And if just by pressing prntscreen, then where do they go?
"Therefore I am not in favour of raising any dogmatic banner. On the contrary, we must try to help the dogmatists to clarify their propositions for themselves. Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

I believe pressing Printscreen sends the file to some "tgas" folder in your Medieval 2 folder. You can also open paint after pressing printscreen and press ctrl v and it will copy the picture there. If you can't tab out without the game crashing, download a program like FRAPS that allows you to take screenshots without tabbing out,
Create one then. Look for a gap between two sections, such as this:
Code:[hotseat] autoresolve_battles=1 disable_console=0 disable_papal_elections=1 passwords=0 save_prefs=1 update_ai_camera=1 validate_diplomacy=1 [network] use_ip= use_port=27750
And then edit so it looks like this:
Code:[hotseat] autoresolve_battles=1 disable_console=0 disable_papal_elections=1 passwords=0 save_prefs=1 update_ai_camera=1 validate_diplomacy=1 [misc] show_hud_date=true [network] use_ip= use_port=27750
EBII Council
That is what I did. I guess I was a little impatient at first...was expecting the year to change after winter, but it changes 1 turn after winter. However, new problem. Upon closing the game...the added [misc] show_date get's erased automatically. I can fix this by making the EBII.cfg read only, but that gives me an error after closing the game.
And you can still check the year in the faction overview scroll as well. It's just a little more out of the way than it should be.
A few from me...not as beautiful though. I don't have GEM installed yet...and couldn't find scroll lock on my laptop keyboard :/
