Where is the mod?

Thread: Where is the mod?

    Default Where is the mod?

So I installed EB2 and with it I got 2 shortcuts, EB2 disc install and steam install. Since I am a steam user, I clicked on the steam install button, and a launcher popped up. I'm assuming after you hit play, you're supposed to press the EBII button to play the mod. However, all that does is open the launcher again. Repeating the process I can get infinite launchers. So where is the mod?

You are a steam user but uh, your Medieval 2 Total War is from steam? Just checking.
Then, as throngs of his enemies bore down upon him and one of his followers said, "They are making at thee, O King," "Who else, pray," said Antigonus, "should be their mark? But Demetrius will come to my aid." This was his hope to the last, and to the last he kept watching eagerly for his son; then a whole cloud of javelins were let fly at him and he fell.

Also, running med2.exe using the launcher beforehand DOES NOT work

That fix is for non steam (aka retail), hence the "not suitable for steam" after it in that thread.

Would help you further but i am using retail so..

Did you try to run the non steam version launcher and check if it starts the game for you? Another question is if the game is installed in the program files? Most of the time if it's in program files it has to do with admin privileges screwing everything up. I use steam version and had no problems running the mod.

Tried the non steam version and it also had the same problem. Also, what do you mean if M2TW is installed in program files? Because thats where Steam is so thats the only place it could be. Also have never had problems with any other mods using launcher, just EBII.

Well my steam is installed into C:\Games\ folder so I never had any problems with games. Worst case scenario could be a corrupt installer download, so you would have to redownload installer and try installing the mod again.

I never got any error messages while installing though, although it took 1 hour to install the mod

Try to right click mod launcher icon and then run as admin or go to properties, then compatibility and then tick the run as administrator box and apply changes and run again. Check if that works. If it doesn't then I'm out of ideas.

Firstly, you need to add EBII into Kingdoms Launcher mod list by using Kingdoms Launcher App: http://www.speedyshare.com/US5SK/Kin...uncher-App.zip
If it doesn't appear for you in the launcher from the steam shortcut.

Secondly, use Kingdoms Launcher to enter EBII, if you haven't already here it is: http://www.speedyshare.com/8xmxs/M2T...cement-1.2.zip
(This must be in game folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War)
