Installation Wars: Round 2

Okay, here's hoping that this shiny new thread will give me the answers I need, as my old one seems to have gotten buried. I redownloaded EBII. I now have Winrar open. It says EBII.zip- WinRAR (evaluation copy). Contained in the window are a whole bunch of bin files. The very first file is labeled "EBII.exe". Somebody please explain in technologically illiterate terms what to do from this point on in a step by step manner. Please also excuse my utter ignorance in regards to how the hell any of this works. I'm a console gamer, so I'm still pretty bad at computer things. NOTE: I am using the disc version of M2. Everything is already up to date.

Ignore all the bin files. Run EBII.exe. Set it at the target to your MAIN M2TW folder (not at /mods, not at /mods/eb... at M2TW).
Then just run the shortcut in your desktop Europa Barbarorum II (For DISC installs). If problems persists, make sure you do NOT have installed your M2TW at C:\Program files (any of them). I suggest only installing games at D:\

Okay, I did what you said and we appear to be making progress, but now Windows Script host pops up and says permission denied.

You have to extract the rar before you run the exe.

Right click on the zip, and click extract all.

Awesome! Sounds easy. I guess I'll have to download it again though to get at the zip. *Le sigh*. I will get this mod working eventually.

Why would you have to download it again? You should already have it.

Well, the file appears in my downloads list, but I can't access it. I click on it and nothing happens. Right clicking also produces no results.

Go to your download folder, and it should be there.

I had a strange problem I resolved quickly :

My winrar just didn't show the exe file. I right clicked on the zip file and selected "open with" and selected "windows explorer". (under windows 7) and all files were shown, including the exe file.

I just copy pasted all the files in a new folder and the install went well.

I'm also a console player and I also had installation problems

If you're using firefox browser, Ctrl+J will show your last downloads.

After downloading EB, double-click it. WinRAR will show you list of files, click EBII (type: application). Choose then directory. You are sure that you have M2 + Kingdoms with patch (v1.5) in other place than C: ?
Installer will create shortcut on your desktop "Europa Barbarorum II (for disc installs)". Put Kingdoms disc in dvd, click on the shortcut and that's it!

Okay, so I'm confronted with the wall of bin files, the exe, and a nameless folder above all of them. Do I right click on the folder to select all the files? Also, where am I extracting them to, the M2TW location or elsewhere?

Go to your download folder, right click on the zip icon, and there should be "extract EBII" or something similar that appears in the dropdown menu. Click on that, and it will extract the files into a folder. Go into that folder and double click "EBII.exe". From there, follow Wulfbark's instructions and you should be good to go.

This is what you should do. Go to your download folder (or where you downloaded the mod). If you see a EBII.zip, RIGHt click it, and then select Extract Here. After it ends, run EBII.exe (which will appear in the same folder you are) and install at your main M2TW folder, then run your respective shortcut in the desktop (choose between Steam or no steam)
