Borderless window resets

    Default Borderless window resets

    Whenever I put the two lines in the .cfg to make the game borderless window, they get erased after I close the game. They'll work for the first time I launch the game, but they'll be gone the next time I look at the config file. Any other changes I make to the file stay there, and the file isn't read-only.

    You have to do that in the cfg file that is in the EBII folder

    Resizing your in game resolution to the same size as your desktop resolution helps as well

    Yeah, basically what I do with every mod I play. Unfortunately the mod doesn't comply and it still plays in fullscreen mode.

    I am, though. And both resolutions are the same.

    any entry you do in the medieval.cfg file will be overwritten at game exit.
    custom changes need to be done in the mod's cfg file or (not recommended) make the medieval.cfg read-only

    The EBII cfg file is already set to windowed and borderless, what exactly are you having problems with?
    Is the entry being overwritten in there?

    Yes. According to my Notepad++ after I launch the game, it immideately tells me "This file has been modified by another program, would you like to reload it?" And yes it's the EBII.cfg

    And my windowed settings are removed after I reload it.

    Yeah, I have the same problem as Aruthiel. I put the lines in, it works, but the lines are deleted, so the next time I launch the game, it's not in borderless window.

    that will be the custom bat file then
    if you have any other mod installed then copy the bat file from there and edit the EBII specific path and cfg file name into it

    Got it to work after a bit of text editing. Thanks Gig.

    Nothing really

    Took a BAT file from BellumCrucis6, edited it with Notepad++ to look like this:

    cd ..\..
    kingdoms.exe @mods\EBII\EBII.cfg

    Took the CFG file from BellumCrucis6 and edited it to start with:

    [features]
    mod = mods\EBII
    editor = 0

    And that did the trick.

    I believe going in to "Properties" of the CFG file and ticking the "Read-only" box stops the file from clearing the things you entered. At least, that's how I stopped it from happening a year or two ago when I was having that issue.

    this only works for the medieval.cfg file - and it disables the saving of any changes that you make ingame in options

    I had the same problem with windowed mode working at first after adding "windowed=1 and borderless_window=1" and then not working when I start up EB2 the second time. The way I fixed it is I added the two lines to the medieval.cfg and set it to read only, then I added the two lines again to the EB2.cfg and now it's always in windowed mode.
