will not uninstall

ok then, recently this computer has been really skrooing itself up so i decided to uninstall all the stuff i never use (i only play rtw on the other computer).

when i click "uninstall" what happens is it blasts my CPU usage to 100% then fails to do anything. How do I fix this?

I get a siimilar problem with empire earth, and civ 3

What are your computer specs and have you scanned for viruses yet?

1. yes
2. 60 Gb hard drive, 256 MB DDR ram, some other stuff (sorry, i really don't know the other specs)

What I assume is that the computer is corrupted like in the OS, is it Win XP (if not junk it), then the computer should be erased and started over. Do this only if you have run several virus scanners including going to www.symantec.com and have their site do a free check. Otherwise 256MB is too low if you have XP as the computer needs time to load everything on startup so if you wait 5 minutes after startup the computer should act normal.
