Congrats on getting the mod out there folks! Super psyched. Having a problem with the installing though, and I don't think the solution has been posted in the thread. Right after clicking "install" in the wizard, a prompt pops up telling me to insert the disk. Whether it means for medieval 2 or EB2 I'm not sure. It puts up a temp file as the path use, but the says the path is incorrect and that EB2 cannot be found. I'm also using Steam.

    Salve,
I want to express my sincere gratitude to all those who helped in the development of this piece of art.
Unfortunately i had my share of problems. First i had the launch problem and used the .rar to solve it.
But now i'm having the "text problem" as well and can't seem to find any solution.
I tried to follow the steps described but it did not work.

No log file, Win 7 x64, steam, C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War

Getting a consistent crash (17:51:31.312 [system.rpt] [error] Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit.) whenever I try to fight a siege battle against any Seleucid huge cities as Taksashila. The siege is taking place on turn 384. I've tried sieging both Baktra and Alexandreia-Areia, both are huge cities and both are under Seleukid control. I can auto-resolve the battles without crashing. I can siege Large Seleukid cities without crashing (just tested Harmonzeia, which is a large city, and there was no crash in the battle).

I'm playing on version 2.01 of EBII, with CAI V3.0A and BAI 1.0. I'm using a 64 bit Windows 7, retail version m2tw (non-gold). The install path is C:M2/Sega/Medieval 2 Total war/mods/EBII. The m2tw.system.log is too big for me to upload to TWCenter (15.6 MB). Would it be sufficient for me to simply post the last few lines? Or posting every line that has [error] in it?

Also I should add my log file is in Medieval 2 Total War/logs and not Medieval 2 Total War/mods/EBII, is that normal? There is no logs file or folder in my EBII folder.

The most relevant errors I could find look like this:
Building DB error - culture db max settlement level differs from building db max settlement level for faction f_casse (bdg city vs clt large_city)
    17:50:31.903 [script.err] [error] Script Error in mods/EBII/data/export_descr_buildings.txt, at line 13689, column 2
Building DB error - culture db max settlement level differs from building db max settlement level for faction f_lusotannan (bdg city vs clt large_city)
    17:50:31.903 [script.err] [error] Script Error in mods/EBII/data/export_descr_buildings.txt, at line 13689, column 2
Building DB error - culture db max settlement level differs from building db max settlement level for faction f_sauromatae (bdg large_city vs clt huge_city)
    17:50:31.903 [script.err] [error] Script Error in mods/EBII/data/export_descr_buildings.txt, at line 13689, column 2
Building DB error - culture db max settlement level differs from building db max settlement level for faction slave (bdg city vs clt huge_city)
    17:50:31.903 [script.err] [error] Script Error in mods/EBII/data/export_descr_buildings.txt, at line 13689, column 2
Building DB error - faction f_rome has gap in building prior to socit

There are several lines like this:
17:50:45.311 [game.script] [error] Condition parsing error in mods/EBII/data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign/campaign_script.txt, at line 42041, column 46
    Trait not recognised

If there is any way to get around the TWCenter upload size limit plz let me know.

    Default Major Bug Report

I have patched multiple solutions to fix EB2 for Kingdoms and so far I have everything working, however the campaign will not begin it will display it all, however when I click on "Start" it just freezes. Not the EB2 Script but the Kingdoms.exe itself. I honestly am stuck. I thought a final mod was supposed to at least work and not force me to download 3 different solutions to fix other start up issues. Please help I really wanna play this!!

    I have a HP Pavilion g7
    Windows 7 Home Premium

How long do you wait after clicking start? Generating a new campaign can take anything up to 5-10 minutes, it won't happen immediately. If the music is playing and the icon is spinning, it isn't frozen just processing.

Please note if you've Tabbed or otherwise broken out, you'll have broken the map and need to patch again (not reinstall 2.01) and wait.

Hey guys, I'm really into EBII, but I keep getting crashes quite often. I don't know whether they are caused by MTWII or EBII.

Hi. I am playing with pahlava. So far as a bugs it goes well. But after someting around turn 120 the city list are causing ctd. When you click the cities on the list or the try to sort for example population its crash directly or pictures and ıcons become messy and crash after that.

Also there is someting else too. İn the capitals of pontos and greeks after they revolt and I conquer again (Revolt are bit broken too.For example baktria make a revolt in the province east to marmara sea while their army spawn in baktria) there is a building which gives %100 food and public order. And it has no kind of a description.

    Thanks.

That's running out of memory, an M2TW bug. There are some solutions you can search for to assist with memory-related issues. Play shorter sessions, they become more likely the longer the game goes on.

Capitals revolt more often, that's by design, it facilitates faction re-emergence. We can't do much about re-emergence sometimes going awry. The building you're describing is supposed to be removed, but sometimes fails to.

There's nothing useful in your log; you need to switch the logging back to trace if you get a recurrent error, the shortened logs don't tell us anything besides that there is a crash.

Yes, i use the Gold Edition from German Computerbild Magazin.

    So my error History.

    1. I had the same problem as Campylobacter jejuni reported here in #1

    2. I read the helpfull answer from bovi in #7

    3. I couldt start the mod without any problems. Nice Vids by the way and fantastic atmospäre too.

    4. But after restart i have the problem i posted in #10

    5. When i closed the game, i read on this error like Campylobacter jejuni posted in #4

    6. I used the Fixes, both from alin.

    7. I run the M2TW/documentation/tools/cuf/build-strings-bin.wsf, but the Internet Explorer opens like i postedt in #27.

    8. When i try to start the Mod, only this happend like i postet in #15

So, i think i made some mistakes, but where?

For step 7 do you have java installed? What's your install path?

If yes(if not you must install it) go to:
    Medieval II Total War\documentation\tools

Open build_scripts.ini with notepad(right click) and update this path to your java path(eg. C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe):
    Exe = E:\Programs\Java\jre7.17\bin\java.exe

Afterwards run Medieval II Total War\documentation\tools\cuf\build-all-cuf.wsf.
Double click, if it still opens in interner explorer then right click and choose open with command prompt.

Afterwards run Medieval II Total War\documentation\tools\cuf\build-all-cuf.wsf.
Double click, if it still opens in interner explorer then right click and choose open with command prompt.

I had shader.txt problem, tried first two fixes, that you provided and I managed to launch the mod. Then I had the problems with texts appearing everywhere in game, I did exactly as you said and it took like 5 minutes to rebuild everything, but now IT WORKS!!! So far no other issues, thanks!

If yes(if not you must install it) go to:
    Medieval II Total War\documentation\tools

Open build_scripts.ini with notepad(right click) and update this path to your java path(eg. C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe):
    Exe = E:\Programs\Java\jre7.17\bin\java.exe

Afterwards run Medieval II Total War\documentation\tools\cuf\build-all-cuf.wsf.
Double click, if it still opens in interner explorer then right click and choose open with command prompt.
