    Default Greek formations

    I've always loved Greek City States, and I always use them online, but I find myself beaten by the other phalanxes in the game. Even my spartans sometimes are routed by macedonians in particular. Can anyone give me some formations for greek city states against macedon or seleucia? The enemy cavalry always defeats my cavalry because greek cav. sux...

    C=Cavalry
    P=Phalanx
    A=Archers

    CCC P P P P P CCC
    AA

    I've seen armoured hoplites utterly tear through an enemy Macedon companion phalanx, frontally.

    As for the Greek cities, yes thier cavalry isn't intended to slug it out with other heavy cavalry. However, Ram those light cavalry into the rear of a unit that is engauged by one of your phalanxes, and you'll rout them.

    Cavalry=C
    Armoured hoplites=P
    General=G
    Spartans=S
    Archers=A
    Heavy peltasts=M

    C C C C C C PPPPPPP
    G AA SS
    MMMM

    Pretty self explanitory. heavy peltasts can hold the left flank need be, the cavalry should be able to rout the enemies, and swing around and destroy enemy units fighting your phalanxes.
