need help!

My graphics card just crapped out on me. It was a radeon x1600 pro 512mb AGP card. The other day my monitor all of the sudden said no input. I checked all cables and everything seemed to be in order. I took out the radeon and put in an old video card I had laying around and it works fine. Any suggestions as to why my radeon would all of the sudden flake on me?

How hot is it inside your computer case? It may have gotten fried or something....

If it is shot - check to see if you can RMA it, or if the warranty is till good...

These things just happen sometimes, my card has been faulty since arrival it seems, and my friends just stopped working the other day in the same way yours did. You should definitely try sending it back though for a replacement

thanks for the advice everyone. I don't think that the temp. is too hot, the case has a cooling fan on the side and I left it at a default temp. I think like 84C, not quiite sure though. what temp should it be inside the case in order to prevent that from happening and if that's the case is it completely shot? I guess I will have to try and send it back, I can't remember when I purchased it. It hasn't been too long though. thanks again everyone.

No worries mate. Case temps will vary - it'll depend on the room temp, and how well your case is cooled. 84C seems high for a video card - at least it does to me. Did the fan die?

not to my knowledge, in the summer it would kick on from time to time. But it is winter here now and it never came on anymore. So that could be a possibility.
