Historical expansion

So I'd like to play a historical campaign with the romans, meaning I'd like to expand the in the way the romans did. In what order did the conquer the world? and when?

Edit: For realistic expansion in Europe and Asia I would recomend Terrae Expugnandae. It can be found in the Roman Mod section in the forums.
