It has been a long time since we held the last “concilium plebis”.
Last time Fredrin was in charge to setup a community survey and it did quite well. Nearly 4400 people all over the world answered about 20 questions about Rome 2, in just 8 weeks of time.
Now nearly 8 months later and in expectation of the 1st Rome 2 release anniversary, I asked the community on TWC if they like to have another survey. I haven’t got a massive amount of replies, yet the vast majority voted for a “yes”.
So decided to setup a new survey together with friends from the TW community. This survey will be considerably longer and more in-depth than it was in December, for good reason:
The first survey was merely focused on the user satisfaction with the game, features, issues and questions about DLCs. A lot of people, mainly on totalwar.com, complaint that the survey Fredrin made, also with community help, was quite biased and so they also neglected the quite negative results of it.
However having that amount of participants, even a lot outside the forums, made a good sample, but never a community survey is able to reflect a representative result, like a professional made survey that is done by specialists.
Nevertheless the “concilium plebis secundum” I now kindly ask you to participate in, has a much more neutral and professional drive, I hope.
This belongs how questions being asked and answers can be given, to address the quite valid complaints we had in the past. Still I also included very vital question from the old survey with the quite same phrasing, so it is possible to make comparisons to the results we had in December. I hope you won’t mind the phrasing of these few questions then. All recurring questions are intentionally marked.
The “concilium plebis secundum”, as said, is much more complex, it handles a lot of aspects and addresses a wider player base, than just the single player community:

Please do not be too disappointed that there still may be some questions not being included or handled with more detailed, such as historical authenticity, the latest DLC et cetera et cetera, as this survey is already very long and we need avoid distracting people with shorter attention spans taking part in this survey.

The survey asks you a minimum of 32 questions and maximum of 80 questions, which are easy and quite fast to answer, but please take your time.
According to our many beta testers you need ~15-35 minutes to complete. (Ofc also depending on your own level of understanding of the english language)

The survey mentions lack of HDR: the game does include HDR, just it's permanently on AFAIK (without mods)

ok thanks. Yes I mentioned it as it could not be turned off. For some users this maybe positive. But sometimes I am not very sure about the existance of HDR when I look to the lightning quality.

When I helped the machinima guys there are really hard curves and artifacts in the sky depending the lightning. Does look like a GIF picture with a color palette :/

yes but this is the wrong thread to discuss it Causeless. Basically HDR is OFF in the preferences.script.txt so we cannot be sure if CA changed the whole thing. Why would they after so many years? Same Tesselation. But again discussing this in detail is offtopic.

Done just hope CA will teake notice, i stumbled upon results thread from previous one ind the ending post was something about it all being irrelevant due to the way questions were formed, and people who took it not being representative of THE WHOLE plaing comunity...and generaly I got the impresion CA wont give a F*%k about it...so hope they will take this one under consideration...or come up with their own version or somethin.

nor the circus maximus, though granted , by the time one builds a lv 4 rome campital or something ,

it is basically the same false advertising as CA does and as all machinimas are. They are heavily edited / and or filtered then use mods to make it look brilliant Both try to get the best out of it.

For the next survey, split MP campaign and MP battles into two separate thingies.

I voted no, I don't play MP because it went on to ask me a bunch of things that I could not answer because I only ever play the SP or MP campaign. I don't do MP battles or avatar conquests or anything like that.

So then SP4 I assume you did not understood the question. You had the opportunity to say no I do not play multiplayer battles and so skip all MP related questions.
Based on the feedback by SP4, I ensured that people can understand better that the topics

are optional depending on the players situation and taste. We had a beta with a lot of people taking the survey but well no one is infalible.

Hey SP4, this is a valid problem I understand the issue now. I try to solve this and seperate the campaign questions from the mp battle questions asap.

Interesting survey, although there were many answers that had a very restrictive set of answers (specially in the multiplayer section).
Also... the "what do you think the next total war will be" secion was REALLY lackluster. No 16th./17th. Century TW (the only major gap still to be covered by TW) nor Warhammer TW (most likely the next TW, like it or not).

No China: TW, either.

I think you had 2 valid options to vote for a 16/17th Century one was "ETW / Napoleon II / Victorian" the other one was "other" which also includes Warhammer TW. there is no confirmation about Warhammer mate so it is only likely but for some reason it is not included. Same for some other proposals, it is quite impossible to include all scenes like China etc. but I admin that all would have been interesting.

I am sorry this cannot be changed now. Any change on the questions will consequently delete the votes given in this edited question.
