the sooner we will have some results, the shorter this discussion will be.
IMHO alQamar, you should give to us some partial results. It will be more interesting than the "I can make something a lot better" or "It is biaised" or "how to make a pure scientific survey" discussion....

I strictly hesistate to give out results that contain opinions, so the rule of the survey "not to strenghten a faction" by future participants is secured. I hope you understand it.

I already gave out some pre-results about the age of the participants, or the satisfaction with the survey or the rate of people that do not finish it too the end. Sharing the results of who uses 64/32 OS won't harm future participants. So far I can tell that the 32bit users are in a very minority and overall the hardware results are interestingly covered up by the monthly global Steam hardware survey. So it seems that the sample of participants we have is quite good.

As for the time when we can expect a release of the results: So far the number of particpants are still growing, especially on totalwar.com since the thread is up and being on page 1 again. The share of totalwar.com users climbed from 5 to 11% in the last 2 days so we have still a lot of potential. Last time it was 49%. We should try to keep up both threads to attract more people on each forums. Outside the forums the advertising is quite fine. Meaningful TW Youtubers could be still better involved. Sebidee made a proposal also to ask the big names in the modding scene whether they like to support the survey and make the people aware of it. I think this is a very good idea as from the current results the amount of people playing this game only with mods or just because the mods is quite high. I see a good chance that this might help to attract people that do not read the TWC main page or visit the General Discussion of Rome 2 at all. Once someone said "the real general discussion thread for Rome 2" is the DeI thread.

Perhaps some of you have quite personal relations and friends among the modders so perhaps you might convince them to drop a line about the existance of this survey. Most of all as it also handles the topic of modding.

I don't understand people criticising the content of this survery now. Alqamar opened up a thread discussing writing a new survey over two weeks ago. He made a rough copy and linked to it here and left it open for at least a week - accepting feedback, making changes where suggested.

That was the time to come on here and criticise and help him create the type of survey you would want to see- he was open and very very flexible.

To start up criticising the content now... I'm sorry, but let's be honest, that's poor behaviour - that's the nicest way I can describe it.

Absolutely. Even I was well aware and checked it before it was out proper (and I wasn't even paying much attention). Now some of these people come along and appoint themselves 'judges' of what's wrong with the survey, whether it's perfect to them or not- AFTER it's release and AFTER CA got upset and banned it for a while?

It's not on. Only on the internets is this twisted nonsense allow to be subverted about like this.

In the real world, I myself, would not stand for it. It's not cricket to use an old term.

Not everyone saw the survey when it was being tested. I knew al-qamar was making it but I never knew he was asking people to look at it. You can't expect us to go through every thread on the forum every day.

And why are you still going on about 'them' and opinions on bias? That's balls, bias is bias it doesn't require an opinion since spotting it is all about objectivity. I even pointed out some questions that had pro-Rome 2 bias because of how the answers were presented. I asked al-Qamar to change those too and he did.

Objectiviy and neutrality means that you cant cater to opinions or one faction. The survey must be free from bias on both sides of the Rome 2 debate. So stop talking about opinions on bias because that's not what's happening.

And anyway, the survey is perfect now. Why are we still talking about this? At the moment we are discussing discussing a discussion. That's nuts! The only reason I'm replying to you right now is because you feel the need to blame people on the thread. Since when is that helpful?

I was not aware of such a thread until now.

In any case I'd just take it as lesson learned for the next survey to follow. It's clear there was not a stage during the development where the questions were reviewed so that they would present a minimum bias and, to a lesser extent, confusion among participants. I for one wouldn't want a survey that tries to gauge community feedback to lose its effectiveness because most people would simply construe the survey and presumably all others as pointless ego-stroking, either on the positive end of negative.

I personally would want a survey that deals with the naval elements of Rome2, or even in TW games in general. Boy do I have a few things to say about that part of the game.

Yeah, I think TWC should do a whole series of surveys which look at only one aspect of the game - but in great detail. We should do one on naval warfare, siege, politics, campaign AI, multiplayer. Personally I would love to see one about modding.

This survey we have right now is great for general opinions but when you are limited to 80 questions and by time you can't get much detail. It's impossible. But surveys dedicated to a specific topic with 30 questions or so would be great.

Maybe we could get a team together and perhaps make one every two weeks. I would certainly participate in that. What do you think? Is that an idea?

I think this could be a good idea, however we should aim on a success for this survey and it might be that the results will also help your idea what topics we might setup next, and more detailed.
Your idea to involve the modders again, do you think you can manage this for the current survey Sebidee, and then also try to find out what they would think about a survey related only to modding or other focused survey?
That would be nice, if you can find the time. Perhaps we should also think about the EB II team as you said to me, but also others like Mitch, Dresden and so on. Would like to know what they think about that all.

Well I am making another mod right now (I probably shouldn't be even be replying here because I need to do it) I don't really have time to chase down modders. I'll definitely link the survey in the mod though.

Guys I've just tried to find the announcement Omnipotent-Q wrote once for the TWC main page but for some reason I cannot find it anymore among these sub forums:
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forum...ws-and-Reviews or on the main page.

Can anyone help me please? edit: it seems that announcement is not longer there I was able to find it and a link via the google cache. Never mind I will ask Omni directly.

To be honest I share your view only partly. Basically I asked for further feedback, so I am not blaming those that follow up this request even now. All I would like to say is that we should accept that this survey has lacks and some of them have been fixed and we should think about how helpful it is to accuse each other, or to discuss a certain aspect to the death

^^ agreed. May we now close the topic before anyone fly into a frenzy about it? I think we have heard all sides now. Do me a favour guys and try to find another reason to carry on the discussion here.

Good news: meanwhile the survey trailer has passed 2000 views and with it the number of participants are equal. The number of people that drop the survey early is still decreasing, so it seems a good sign for all the changes we made.

Thanks! I really appreciate that positive feedback from you karamazovmm, because I know that especially you have very high stakes in this terms of quality and objectiveness, so your feedback feels really an award.

have you changed the survey since it was posted?
Regardring your question, well a little bit has been changed since the first release.

But the questions itself and the amount of questions are of course the same as they were on release. Meanwhile we just fixed some issues with unintended bias, wording (due language / translation issues) and also the categories have been refined so people might not answer uneeded questions, nothing else. So the survey have not seen major changes that would ruin the already given answers or results. There have been no question added or deleted, which then would make a restart of the survey needed.
As stated some postings earlier, there are some few repetitive questions but those exist intentionally, or in some cases it was not avoidable, due the needed comparison questions from the December survey.

Nice Tantalaul. So far from Romania 21 people took the survey already. That are still 10 people less as we had in the first survey. Perhaps you can find some more people from your country that are not informed about it yet.

    hello everyone,
we still haven't crossed the next milestone of 2000 participants, it would be very helpful to keep the thread on totalwar.com in the focus. Meanwhile 12% of all participants came from totalwar.com, so we are still missing loads of people we saw involved in the first survey. Perhaps it would be helpful if baptistus could contact hellohola and talk with him to make the OP of the thread a little bit more interesting, as daelin4 said the connection to the first survey is completely missing.

for anyone interested here is the geographical spread of both surveys, so basically the reach of all measures seem to be quite sufficent. I got a good news meanwhile and we will see at least one or two youtubers involved to promote the survey in the very next days so I still think that the survey has not run its course yet. As soon those videos are up I will link them.

I kinda wish ca would release an official survey of this kind. would get way more players to participate. but that would never happen. since it will clue alot of their regular customers into the problems of rome 2. for a business, that is like using a magnifying glass over the flaws of their product, put on display for all to see so to speak.

only question I didn't like was modding. I have always downloaded mods I liked, then I modded the mods to my own personal tastes, I also know for a fact that my own personal tastes are not for public consumption. ex: I gave most missile units 5x the normal ammo, my reasoning being that as a commander/general, I would never go to war/battle without proper supplies. the 2 choices for that question seems to be very lacking.
