Cant get the demo to work

My problem is that the demo doesnt work. Not the new one "gold" one, the old one. PC Gamers just came out in the UK with the demo inside but it doesnt work on my comp. Well, it does, to a degree. The first screen comes up, then when I select any of the battles, it goes to the load screen, the as soon as its finished loading, it goesto the battle, BUT, the screen goes black...the sound and narration work, but no visuals. Whats the issue here?

I had the same problem, don't know if it can be fixed. Going to try the new demo later today and hopefully it will work.

i cant get mine to work either...it sais pixel shader 1.1 required..........i have a failry new nvidia/ geforce graphics card and an athlon xp 2.17 ghz processor.. 512 mb of ram i have the latest driver installed..and directx(r) was installed...could someone help me?

this problem is with the new one (gold)..

is it possible that maybe my pixel shader is disabled in my settings or turned lower..any way to turn them up?? i dont know much about computers but im hoping this is a possibility?

Does that mean im gonna need to buy a new graphics card? Will this problem persist into the finished version of the game?

Old Demo which PC Gamer UK haves is old and requires SSE2, Download new GOLD Demo which does not need SSE2

First edit your post, don't double post second what's your GPU Card

SSE2,SSE3,SSE4 is in Intel Processors since i think 01 and All AMD 64 Processors have them but don't it for Gold Demo and final version

No need download anything if have windows. Go start - run - Dxdiag

Download a program called "Everest Home Edition" . That'll tell you everything you need to know about your machine.

It'd be if he had the Ti version. That's recommended. I had the Ti 4200 (former card), slightly under recommended :wink:

That card isn't supported, it isn't compatible with shader, you'll need to buy one

Geforce MX 4xxx are based off the very old Geforce 2 core, they do not support any pixel shaders. you need a new card.

Waahh!!! Can't get the PC Gamer UK disc demo to work. Installed up fine - click to start the first battle - all I am left with is a black screen with the music in the background.

AMD Athlon 64 + ATI Radeon 9800XT. Should be OK re SSE2 so I thought it must be the drivers (got a brief message up saying 'No Video Input' before the screen blacked out. Concerned now because I thought the Disc Demo automatically installed the latest drivers.
