Many people are unsettled by harmless things. Some are unsettled by spiders, some by frogs, some by wangs. Of course it's unreasonable but the brain just is funny like that. No harm done so it's alright I believe.
Clearly even today the strategy of naked fanaticism sows discontent and fear into all that behold it.![]()
Personally, I don't care. I ll just accept the solution that brings the less extra-work to the EB2 team. One that wouldn't cause any delay if possible (like leaving it as it is).
I mean, some of us have waited for that mod for years and now here we are discussing and questioning details like the color of grass the side of mountains or the the appropriate-ness of nudity.
Ebverything is perfect as it is, bring the mod on , we'll talk later.
@ Naked Fanatics : nice shields by the way.

" Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room! "
Why was the "Naked Fanatic" so effective at sowing fear? Simple! Gaul is full of trees. Forests+ angry, violent naked dudes= "Deliverance".
"Quintus! Paddle faster! I hear banjos!"
"You got a purdy gladius there boy..."

Why do some of them wear trousers? You just know they will be mocked back at camp...
There is only one naked unit in EB2? What about the naked celt spearmen? I always wanted to see a naked hoplite unit, apparently it was historically accurate for lesser hoplites to fight this way as clothes were precious commodities back then? A powerful symbol of Hellenic warrior culture, the nudity of a barbarian with the discipline of a 'civilised' warrior.
And this evidence comes through...? The only thing would be archaeological sources on this where it's explicitly clear that those tunics were worn in battle and not outfitted after the death. In opposite to this you had to lay proof that the current communis opinio of certain castes fighting naked or dressed only with a pelt is false (which is albeit indicated by many sources, pictures as well as written).
When reading this, I remembered a scene from HBO's Rome, when...now I'm not sure, was it Vorenus or Pullo...well, presents a trophy he took from an enemy-an unusually large....ehm...body part.
There was also a pragmatic reason for fighting in the nude. If a piece of cloth from the warrior's clothes is put into an open wound with, say, the stab of a spearpoint, then the possibility of infection or even sepsis.
Food for thought whenever you view an ancient man's dangly parts.
Imagine you'd tell an alien that you find offence in the sentence - naked men killing each other by the thousands - in the "naked" not "killing" part![]()
I'm just glad that this discussion is taking place in a forum relating to Western warfare. If this kinda stuff went on in a mod relating to say, China or Korea, the amount of "wang" jokes would be unbearable.

I'm more disturbed at the unnatural length of their feets
HATE SPEECH ISN'T REAL
