Default Family Member 'Died in Battle'

So I got bored and decided to reinstall CoW and my game was going well, thirteen turns in and the ridiculous number of Dwarven and Stirland stacks are defeated(retarded fake-difficulty is retarded) when suddenly out of the blue it says my family member has "Died a noble death in battle".

    Which would be fine.

Except he wasn't in battle, he wasn't even in an army stack, assassins are disabled, and the only one who was actually IN BATTLE RECENTLY was Mannfred, who didn't even come close to dying.

Has anyone else experienced a bug like this or is the game just being a spiteful buggy piece of junk to me again?

The same thing happened to me once, but never again since. Was playing as Stirland at the time iirc. No idea whatsoever how it happened, but it was a completely isolated incident, so I didn't really look into it...

Agree, only that I was in the reverse position, defending my beloved Stirland against ridiculously oversized undead armies manifesting out of thin air...

t ridiculously oversized undead armies manifesting out of thin air.
That's at least making sense(a bit)....I mean they just have to find a graveyard.
But playing as the orcs and being outnumbered by dwarven stacks isn't fun .
