No recruitment options

Hi all,

First off: Great mod! My absolute favorite.
I'm having a problem.. I'm currently playing with Athens and I just built a workshop in my city and now I cant recruit any units. It's not that I can't click em or anything, they're just gone.. When I click the recruitment button it just shows a blank space.. I can't hire any mercenaries either. We're talking about my capital here, so it couldn't be anything with culture.. I tried an earlier save from before I built that workshop, but that didn't work either. I have 2 other mods installed besides DEI and I disabled those and tested it again.. Still wouldn't work.

Is my savegame corrupt? I'm confused.. Haven't eaten for days and sleep won't come either.. The wife left me and she took my dogs man.. MY DOGS!!
Please help me, this problem is ruining my life.. The bank is threatening to take my house..

That does sound very odd. Have you tried to verify cache files in steam and perhaps re-download DeI. Because you should be able to recruit some kind of units even without the barracks. Are you using the steam or the TW version of the mod? Sometimes the steam version can be a bit buggy. If that doesnt help.. well... good luck with the bank and sorry bout the dogs...

The weird thing is.. If I start a new game it's all good again. I'll try verifying the cache. I'm using the TW version of the mod, since I don't trust steam that much. I'll report back as soon as I'm wiser.

Hmm. I believe someone had the same problem some time ago and he found out it was his other mods that messed things up. Some mods may screw up the scripts in DeI and that usually means messing up the recruitment in game. What other mods are you running?

Alright, I found it. It was indeed a mod conflict.. And one I never would have expected. I installed a new faction symbol for Athens today. One of those beauties made by Noif. It was that mod that prevented the recruitment.. But why I wonder? Disabling this mod fixed the issue and I can continue with my awesome campaign.

It's too bad that this happened.. I really digged that new emblem. For those who are wondering: it was Athens emblem V5 that I used. And I love it.

Also; the wife is back, the dogs are pregnant and I get to keep my house. Thanks TWC for being there!

Many mods conflict and make small changes to the scripts in DeI messing it up. Usually most problems with the game is due to mod conflicts in some way. Glad you made it work again.

And that you got your life back together.

We have created custom military groups for athens and syracuse. In vanilla, they are one military group.

A faction emblem mod has to assign the emblem in the faction table if they use a custom directory. The faction table is also where the military group is assigned.

Soooo... If I really really wanted to use that faction symbol.. What does a simple farmer like me have to do to make this work?

SuperEdit: Nevermind! I got my tiny mind bent around this, and I got it to work!
