I heard they werent really balanced yet for DEI.

i want to start a campaign as my all time favourite parthia but as you know they are a cavalry heavy faction so balance is quite important to them. im just wondering if they are playable

Yes they are definitely playable, I've done a couple of campaigns with them. Just beware trying to take on the AI's horse archer armies: it's one of the most annoying experiences you will ever have. Median cav. spam usually does the trick.

Slingers wreck horse-archers!

Horse archers wreck any faction. Cataphracts also are the best cav in game. Its just that Parthia has a hard time expanding when everyone wants to kill them.

i dont think 1.1 will be coming out any time soon but im going to go ahead on a parthian campaign or a nomadic faction campaign anyway.

The parthian units arent balanced though. their cataphract horse archers arent that good. Massagetae has far superior units, and with the AOR system, Massagetae can recruit good infantry units as well. no need for parthian swordsmen that are super weak as well. I played parthia like 4 times, i know what i am talking about.

You could just download PFM and begin to balance them Otherwise you would have to wait till version 1.0
Sure it will be worth the wait.

I really can't wait to play with the Eastern overhaul. I love horse archers, if only because it feels like I'm trolling the AI with them.

A question, one thing I noticed with Selecuid's satrapies is they recruit some Greek units as well like pikemen, thorax swords will this be kept in the Eastern overhaul? or will these factions get entirely new rosters?
