Once you go movement-submod, you never go back!
Once you go movement-submod, you never go back!
You know you can make it even more compatible with pretty much any future versions by simply creating your own difficulty table fragment (like movereduce_campaign_difficulty) and putting your movement effects there. Then just leave out the rest of those tables from the main mod.
Edit: Also you may need to alter your numbers after next update. I am adding a movement decrease to all seasons thats invisible but then adding a blanket increase for armies (to help transports). Also will have the side effect of decreasing movement on land a bit.
Thanks for the hint Dresden
I changed the files
Tried with the updated -20 movement mod now after 1.02 and armies move around as little as they did with -40 in 0.9x. Am I missing something?
The 1.02 update for DeI reduces movement as well.
-20% range is like -40% before the update
Hey! I noticed the upkeep changes too, and the recruitment costs, is it fixed with the latest update?
Yes, its fixed
Hey, I use the latest -20 version with DEI 1.02 and during winters my armies can't move at all, maximum i got was radius of 1 cm.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
i had this sometimes as well when using the -20% version of the mod. difference was my armies couldnt move at all (there was no red arrow which indicated that they are out of movement points). i tried to switch stances and checked for agents but the armies havent been sabotaged. even if it was a harsh winter they should be able to move imho. but this bug is quite rare...in about 100 turns it happened maybe two times on four armies in total.

Sadly after testing some, I felt that even with _20 less movement, it's almost unplayable. As people point out, often you barely get to move at all
DeI drastically reduces movement in winter.
With this mod on, movement goes down to nearly 0 in some cold regions.
In egypt e.g. you can move well in winter.
I uploaded a new version, should be better playable
can you add a 33% MPoints compared to the newest DeI version? IŽd like to fuse it with the 12 tpy option^^

Could you do something with naval transport ships ?? The range of naval transports is idiotic

I have to agree here. I think the current army moving distance with this mod is just perfect. It takes me two turns to get from one city to another along roads in my own territory. This is fine, and means that I can't ambush a neighboring settlement in one turn, nor can the ai do that to me without me seeing them at my borders first.
But naval transport range, it takes me up to three turns just to move from Rome (the city) to Corsica. That's a bit silly, seeing as my navy can move there and back in one turn.
Dresden did something to have transports moving at a good distance even with land range limited. Perhaps you could ask him (or whoever on the team actually did the work on it) how they did so, and implement that?
