Default Possible to edit flank/rear damage per unit?

Is it possible to edit flank damage received depending on unit? Last time I checked the rear/flank penalty was a static global penalty, but I'm trying to make pikes more susceptible to rear/flank attacks. Anyone have any info on this?

Im pretty sure its a global stat under _kv_rules
not sure if you can link that rule to the unit Form_pike_wall ability as a negative value

it is a global value. actually, there are two. one for melee attack and second for melee defense. Melee attack penalty can be adjusted for front, left side, right side and rear, while defense penalty only handles amount of defense to be used when attacked from flank (0.5 or 50%) and rear (0). Yet due to these values being global, you need to think about it generally, and not specifically...

With Pikemen it is better to make them quite bad at defense when Pike Wall is active, while giving pikes bonus to melee attack and modify the kv Rules to change the ratio of knockback/knockdowns to let say 99% knockback - This way, pike hits will push enemy backwards, while melee attack bonus will help them scoring more hits ( also recomend using 0 delay for pike attacks), while due to low defense, if they get flanked, they will be easy to kill... this system works fine for me, if you want to check it out, check the Rome II Total Realism, it is implemented there
