    Default Creating a new faction with the Assembly Kit

    Has anyone managed to successfully do this yet? I want to create a new faction, not repurpose an existing faction. I've created entries in:

    faction_banners_tables
    faction_political_parties_junction
    faction_to_faction_groups_junction
    faction_uniform_colours_table
    factions_tables
    political_parties_tables

    And creating a pack file works fine, but when I add an entry with this faction to starting_positions (non-playable with no characters or regions for now) it won't create startpos.esf.

    Tried it another way.

    1. Added test_easterners (a built-in unused faction) to start_pos_factions, again no characters or units, and startpos.esf can be created successfully.
    2. Added a new faction to faction_banners_tables, faction_uniform_colours_table and factions_tables, all fields cloned from test_easterners, except for faction name and unique ID. They are the only three tables where test_easterners have an entry.
    3. Changed entry in start_pos_factions from test_easterners to my faction, startpos.esf can no longer be created.


    What am I missing? There is no-where else where test_easterners is mentioned as far as I can see, so are the factions hardcoded in some way?

    Are you trying to create a totally new faction or a civil war/rebellion facition for unlock factions ? Maybe try to create one for unlock factions first be easier. I haven't tried it myself though since it's easier to use CiG and HatG (even prologue) factions into the main campaign.

    Well both really, eventually for separate mods. But at this point it's the same thing, as civil war factions still need to be added to start_pos_factions and it's that point where I'm stuck.
