Well I know that Erdogan is running for president and he have said some very explosive things over the past two months and this
might be interpreted as a "soundbite" and such, but it was highly inappropriate and unnecessary from the leader of a country to say
such a thing, especially taking into the consideration the Turkish-Armenian relationship and unresolved issues concerning the denial
of the Armenian Genocide and so many other things!!

The quintessential irony is that he propagates himself as a "Ottomanist" and someone who wants to bring back the glories of the defunct Ottoman
Empire, and now he is ridiculing the people who have contributed to the Ottoman Empire probably more than all the other ethnic groups! As for
his "Turkishness" he certainly doesn't look to be of Turkoman origin nor he qualifies to be of Central Asian Turkmen/Uzbek origin since they are
all 98.8% Asiatic looking. Therefore, in ultimate sardonistic paradox and chagrin to Erdogan, he may be after all everything but not Turkish and
let alone the embodiment of "Turkishness" that he so strives to be!!

Well, the article is altering what he said a little bit. What he really said:

I translated it from the video on Radikal article as I listened to it thinking that it would come much quicker but I ended up translating a lot more. It's a quite weak soundbite to attack him on. There are much more clearly wrong things about him. Despite that it had a large presence in Turkish media. Nonetheless, it's rather wrong to accuse him of saying "ugly to be called Armenian" as it's done in the link provided by The Noble Lord.

Truth is, he's getting kinda wacko as years pass.
And while the quote in BBC was more or less what DLS said, It is kinda crazy to say "they said lies about me, they called me bad things like being Georgian or even Armenian while I'm 100% Turk."

The point is that there is not supposed to be "like" in that sentence.

It's not Erdoğan's fault and he doesn't hate other races. Facists (MHP and other minor parties) and Kemalists (CHP-leftwing) attacking him as a foreigner descendant (aka non-muslim/infidel). They know they can't beat him and they attack with stupidiest argument can they come with (except killing him ofcourse). Also i want to add that every single Muslim in the world doesn't want to be addressed as non-muslim/infidel, it's a big insult towards us.

That's quite not the reality and Erdoğan lies to accuse others of what his party does. No other party attacks others based on their religion or ethnicity as much as AKP does.

gastovski, I used to support AKP and him. Not Anymore. First; he lies, and he believes his own lies. Second; everyone, without expection, if oppose him is an enemy of state according to him.

You are right, it's very interesting how in the first 5-6 years of his rule he was not like this, only in the last year or so he started to be more and more like a erratic president

If Erdoğan would be an immortal, he would get elected everytime because majority of people really doesn't like CHP (aka ancient history), MHP (Turkish Nazis) and HDP (Kurdish Nazis). People doesn't vote him just because of him, they simply don't want other parties.
